Bear Canyon Lake and Camping Area

Meh

Beautiful area, however lake access can be difficult. Steep trail down to the lake, and it's a bit of a hike from the camping area to even get to the trail. Would be a challenge if you want to bring paddle boards, etc. Nights were rowdy. This place feels like the Wild West. ATVs ripping around at night, people revving engines, lots of gunshots, chainsaw noise, and loud partying until 3-4AM. Do not recommend unless you're into that sort of thing yourself. Also, it was extremely crowded when we went. We got there on a Thursday AM and were easily able to find a site far enough away so our dogs weren't constantly barking at the neighbors, but by Saturday there wasn't a free open spot anywhere. It was so crowded that we almost got blocked in by other groups. Also, it did not appear that anybody cared about fire restrictions.
