Large gravel sites spread across this Bureau of Land Management campground along Walker Fork Creek, where campers report reliable Starlink connectivity but no cellular service. The facility provides 25 sites including back-in and pull-through options, with the largest sites arranged in a circular configuration at the campground's far end. Each site includes a fire pit, grill, and picnic table, while vault toilets serve the area.
Site #25 features a tent platform directly beside the creek, though traffic noise from the nearby Taylor Highway bridge carries across the water. The campground accommodates big rigs and offers both drive-in and walk-in access from May through September. Campers exploring the region can find campgrounds around BLM Land — Eastern Interior Field Office for additional options in this remote corner of Alaska.
Description
The campground is operated by the BLM and offers 18 camping sites. In the 1930s and 1940s, this was the site of Lassen airstrip. Year-round air service replaced winter-only sleds delivering equipment and fuel to mining camps on Jack Wade Creek. ADA Access: Yes. There are 2 elevated tent pads and an accessible toilet.
