Located just outside of Seward this MWR campground/resort offers basic amenities. The laundry room and restrooms are clean and the overall condition of the facility is good.

Please be aware that if you are camping here the sites are extremely close together and there is no privacy except that which you find in your own RV.

Also as noted in the title of this review you must be DOD affiliated to use this campground. That means users must be active duty, National Guard, Reserves, retired military, DOD civilian or authorized DOD contractor and veterans with a VA disability rating of greater than 5%.

We stayed here for 1 night and 2 days in a camper van. No information on the website about not being allowed to car camp, so we booked a tent site ($25/night). Upon arrival, we were informed this wasn’t allowed so we had to upgrade to an RV site ($50/night). It would’ve been nice to know this ahead of time, as we would’ve just camped somewhere else for free and paid for showers. Otherwise, solid location with minimal road noise. The showers were nice and the area was calm. Fire pits are communal, not per campsite. RV sites are just a parking lot with picnic tables between. This is basically just a gated rest stop, so it comes with peace of mind.

Hated having to be so close to everyone. Basically a parking lot that they squeeze everyone into.

20, 30, 50 Amp hookups and H2O. As others have said, quite tight against your neighbors and generally full during summer months. Bath house is nice and clean which is great considering there’s no sewer at the sites. Dump site on site so one can make do. A bit unorganized at check in because they don’t reserve sites until you arrive. If you’re in a big rig like I am you could find yourself SOL should the 45’ spots all be full. Overall, not a bad place because the price is right!

Resort area is well organized. RV sites are well-priced, though you won’t get the views that the state sites in town have along the shore. Like many hook-up campgrounds, the RV sites are sterile-feeling (standard parking lot style). Okay if you plan to be out & about all day but not ideal for hanging out around the RV. Campfires only allowed off to the side in a picnic area.

Bathrooms very clean and warm.

Yurts would be my go-to if I were to come again or recommend to family. Fun experience. Fire pits nearby.

Tent sites are really just a patch of grass between the row of Yurts and the playground/bathroom. You could find much more scenic spots not too far unless you’re just looking for a place to lay your head.

Tucked away off the road. Not a lot of RV spots. Amenities are awesome and well kept! Perfect for fishing trips as they have all the cleaning stations and a big freezer to keep your fish during your stay.

If you don't plan on sitting by the campfire but exploring Seward then this is the spot for you. Must be military or DOD to stay here but it is lower and cheaper price than anywhere else in Seward. RV sites are close and tight together like a parking lot. There is a store along with showers available and a restaurant during summer months. Beautiful mountain views in all directions help cushion the blow of this tight fit. Close to downtown and the harbor, we used our bicycles to get around town.

WI think a mile walking distance to downtown Seward. A City shuttle comes for free a couple tines a day. There fishING resources to rent. Cavins, yurts and camp sites. Late August the silver back salmon run. We caught one. The Alaska Coas talk train and Exit Glacier are awesome destinations. Resort staff are helpful

Although this campsite doesn’t have the best views to offer it is ideal for the location. Juat far enough out of town that you can find some quiet while being continently close to Safeway and the Cup (a drive through coffee shop). The camp itself has a playground and basketball courts and tennis courts for fun and you’re also just a few blocks from the elementary school playground as well.

Seward Military Resort was out last campground of our 8 night trip. We used the resort to set up our tent and venture out into Seward to go ice climbing on the nearby Exit Glacier (pictures and video below). The site is on the small side and really close to one other tent site and the yurts. No mosquitoes, people adhere to quiet hours, and it's close to a wealth of activities in Seward.
