    Sturbridge, Massachusetts

Wells State Park Campground, nestled near Sturbridge, MA, is a solid choice for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors from May to October. This place has a bit of everything: tent sites, RV spots, yurts, and even some glamping options.

One of the standout features here is the extensive network of hiking trails. Whether you're up for a quick 15-minute stroll or a more challenging trek up to Carpenter's Rocks, there's something for everyone. The trails are well-marked and offer some fantastic views, especially if you make it to the top.

The campground itself is pretty spacious, with good privacy between sites. You won't feel like you're on top of your neighbors, which is always a plus. The bathrooms and showers are kept clean, though they could use a bit of updating. There's also a dedicated sink for dishwashing, which is a nice touch.

If you're into water activities, the beach area is close to the lower sites, making it easy to take a dip or just relax by the water. Just be prepared for some mosquitoes, especially around the boggy areas and swamps.

For those who need to stay connected, cell phone coverage is minimal, so don't expect to stream your favorite shows. But hey, isn't that part of the charm of camping?

Firewood is available on-site, though it's a bit pricey. You might want to make a quick trip to the nearby Walmart for a better deal. And if you're not from Massachusetts, be aware there's a surcharge that bumps up the nightly rate.

Overall, Wells State Park Campground offers a mix of natural beauty, decent amenities, and plenty of activities to keep you busy. Just come prepared, and you'll have a great time.
