Ponderosa pine solitude

There are a lot of things to like about this campground. It’s a pretty setting, dotted with ponderosa pines in a rolling landscape. It’s close to Bryce Canyon National Park, and a lot of people use it as a base camp for riding ATVs and mountain bikes. The sites are set far apart, and campers are generally courteous and quiet. The biggest downside, other than the fact that you can’t actually see Bryce Canyon, is that the tall trees don’t provide much privacy. The stars were incredible. Something to keep in mind at this and other campsites. Some take credit cards, but this one takes checks or cash only in the fee box at the entrance. Some take only checks, so plan accordingly.
