Nature Adventures Outfitters
About
Tent campites on the Intercoastal Waterway overlooking the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. This is a nature lovers dream. We offer primitive campsites that have access to communal water sources, power, restrooms, and shower facilities. Our campground has a full length basketball court, Pickleball Court, and swings for your enjoyment. You will have access to a floating dock for launch of kayaks into the Intracoastal Waterway. If you do not have your own kayak, we always have them for rent. There is easy access to the iconic Awendaw Passage of the Palmetto Trail, which runs directly through the property and offers hiking and off-road biking opportunities. If you love to set up hammocks, we encourage that on our many majestic Oaks and Palmettos around the property. There are also many offsite activities in the surrounding area that you can enjoy. Please refer to the park map in the photos.
The Flushing Toilets, Showers, and Water source is located at the Conference Center area of the property(there are portable toilets at waterfront). You will need to bring something to store your water in. Power access is at the Conference Center and a single access point at the waterfront. You can easily drive between the waterfront camping area and the Conference Center.
You can drive directly to the sites and park. We do allow camper vans and small popup tents/campers. We do not have hookups at each site so you will need to plan accordingly. Anything over 20 feet is not allowed. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table.
There is a communal area at the end of dock for everyone to enjoy. The swings and basketball/pickleball court is for everyone as well(basketballs, pickleball equipment, soccer balls, footballs, and other recreation equipment are provided).

Perfect spot for self sufficient camping
This place is very nearly paradise. It’s not a luxury campground, nor does it claim to be. It’s on the ICW with loads of great paddling just feet from your site. Because it’s on the water, it is buggy. Come prepared for that and you’ll be fine. I’ve stayed here four times and will keep coming back.
Simple & Peaceful
This campground was everything we needed. Clean, tucked away site with gorgeous views of the stars and sunrise. Definitely no frills & a little run down, but a warm shower is a warm shower. Definitely will be back!
Beautiful views but run down & buggy
The turn off of the main road is very easy to miss, so keep your eyes out. Sign at entrance doesn’t mention anything about Nature Adventure Outfitters, only a conference center.
The campsites are set far enough back from the road that you don’t hear any passing traffic, which is great! Beautiful views of the waterway from the campsites. Looks like most sites had picnic tables and fire pits, which is a plus.
The main downside was the mosquitos — they are BAD.
Overall it gave a feel of the grounds of a rundown church camp that is passed it’s heyday. Dirty facilities and nobody around for info or gear rentals (mid-week).
Showers are available, but run on well water — very intense iron smell.
It got the job done, but maybe not quite worth the cost. We’re visiting in mid-september, so maybe the place is more lively and taken care of mid-summer when kids are out of school. Looks like such a cool spot with lots of potential.
No frills
Large waterfront spots on the inter coastal waterway. Great fall or early spring camping. Tents and small pop ups or teardrops. Primitive but beautiful and peaceful. If you’re looking for concrete pads and amenities, this isn’t for you. If a hammock is your style, book it.
