Enchanted Wilderness Hidden Gem

Tucked far behind acres and acres of corn and bean fields, you'll access Camp Tuckabatchee, which has been a hidden gem in this area since 1927.  While this place is known for its amazing summer youth camps, there are several weekends and longer stays in the shoulder seasons (Spring and Fall) perfect for either cabin or primitive tent camping.  This place has a lot of amenities from archery, fishing, hiking, horse-back riding, spelunking and many other diversions.  Brace yourself for coming across all sorts of outstanding native animals from the snow-peaked owl and white-tail deer and the many raccoons, squirrels, opossums and hawks.  You'll enjoy getting out on all of the sloping and winding trails that surround this great campground.  Insider's tip?  Hang out at Fox Valley Off Road for some seriously great, well, off-roading.  Nearby, there's also Wedron Office for some cold brewskis and amazing hot fried chicken.  Still not satisfied?  If you have a boat, kayak or canoe, I STRONGLY recommend a dip in the Illinois River, which from here, is just a short 15-20 minute drive.

Happy Camping!
