A pleasant surprise
Really nice. Beautiful views and a great walking path for my dog. I could have gone for miles. People are super friendly and it’s clean! Close to hiking. Well worth the visit
Great
We’ll accommodated
KOA Royal Gorge
Large KOA. Always great bathrooms and showers. 1st campsite was full of fire ants but we were able to move to 109 with electric for our tent. Lots of great stuff for kids. Slide, playground, mini golf. Just a few miles from RG Bridge. The camp store is fully stocked!
Great area
Nice area with lots of activities to keep the family busy. The spots are little close together and you don’t get to choose your spot.
Needs a Refresh
A majority of the camp sites need a refresh… trees, patios, landscaping. Restrooms were clean and somewhat updated, but the showers need a total reno. Place appears to be maintained, but could use a total refresh.
Quiet and peaceful camp ground
Quiet place with wonderful views
Ok for overnight
This campground is situated on the road to Royal Gorge, so there's that convenience. It looked like they had a lot of seasonal activities that were closed when we were there in October.
This is a typical KOA(or any commercial campground). Sites are close together. We were placed near the bathroom, which was fine. There was plenty of lighting at night! Staff was friendly. The girl that checked us in couldn't recommend an area restaurant, but finally told me she goes to Muggs a lot. The guy in the golf cart who took us to our site was VERY nice!
The bathrooms were only ok. Everything looked clean except for the shower curtains, which were filthy. We camped at Royal Gorge/ Canon City KOA Holiday in a Travel Trailer
A perfectly adequate place to reload before your next adventure
This KOA journey has a friendly and helpful staff, and offers all of the bare essentials so you can get ready for your next stop. The campground is 8 miles from Cañon City and 4 miles from Royal Gorge.
Sites are a mix of dirt and gravel and as with much of the desert, you should expect it to be very dusty. Our site was very close to our neighbor and in combination with the high winds during our visit, we didn’t spend much time outside. Full hookups are conveniently located and offer water/sewer and 30/50amp service.
The campground has propane refills available on site. The staff was kind enough to let us drop off our tanks and they brought them back to us once someone was available to fill them. The laundry is open 24 hours. There are (4) washers and (4) dryers available at a cost of $2 per load. There is no change machine, so bring your own quarters or stop in the office and the staff can help you with exchanging some small bills.

Great place to spend a day or 2
We stopped here on a last minute reservation.. staff helped us from start to finish to make our stay a good one.. Our site had a patio and lawn furniture.. plenty of space. Royal Gorge is a fun attraction and if you venture out there are other attractions during season. We did drive the Skyline Drive road.. kinda fun. The Covid scare had a lot of normal activities muted but I suspect next year will be back to full activities in the area. The store is well stocked and the showers are very clean. Propane on site if needed

Cañon City, Colorado KOA
Very nice campground, friendly staff, clean facilities. The site we got had our door facing another camper's door and our picnic tables were next to eachother, so we didn't spend much time hanging out outside. Their store sells pizza and wings and is stocked with many essentials. The Sunday we were there they had $3 all you can eat pancakes for breakfast.

KOA
I've got a slide in camper was given a tent site in the far back corner of the campground. Staff was AMAZING...they'de give my wife rides to the pool and were extremely courteous and friendly. Going back next weekend.
Great location
Very clean and plenty of spaces. A bit understaffed, but they do their best to prioritize tasks and keep the facility well maintained.
Beautiful location
Tent sites are on the hill and have lovely views. The tent pads are pretty small though. They are great for 1-2 people, but we are a family traveling with pets, so we have a larger tent. Nice community feel. Lots for kids to do. Close to rafting, Royal Gorge and other attractions.
A barren, muddy KOA
We arrived after the rain, and the sites had gravel streams pouring through them. The wi-fi was TERRIBLE. Showers clean.
Family & pet friendly, good location, and lots of fun activities
Campground had lots of RV sites and fewer tent sites but nice tent sites. Beautiful views of the mountains and close to many of the rafting companies and other local attractions as well as to the Royal Gorge bridge ans hiking. Staff were very friendly. We were there for a few, big, afternoon thunderstorms, one of which caused a little flooding around the office. Tent sites are on slight hill so no flooding but lots of little rivers running through our campsite. We would stay here again- the kids loved thr go-karting, mini-golf and giant slide. There is also a pool onsight which we did not use.
The camping location was great with lots for kids to do
The campsite pads were great, shelter building with water and a grill, kids rode go carts, the big slide, and putt putt. Limited restrooms for such a large campground.
Fire Ban
Camped at Royal Gorge KOA for 1 night, June 23rd. Very easy to find and check in. Staff was very friendly. Fire ban, so no fire-pizza delivery to our campsite was a plus! Showers and toilets were functional, but not the best. Our site, 1K, was not marked and at the top of the loop which allowed for a quieter camping experience than other sites. Free pancake breakfast on Sunday was a plus as well!
