Silver Lake Campground at June Lake

Beautiful Place to Access More

This campground was pretty much perfect. It was far enough off the main road to lead to a feeling of seclusion. The nearby lake was beautiful, especially in early morning, and it provided an entry and exit point to the quieter side of the CA wilderness, such as Ansel Adams Wilderness (for when you don't want to fight the crowds in Yosemite). Bear lockers provided at each site; bathrooms were respectable; the nuts and bolts were all there. Campsites didn't feel too crowded between sites, though there isn't much in the way of trees, etc. to create a barrier, so you could pretty much see all your neighbors.
