Well done campsite

We camp here at least once a year. While not really well developed,  we like the walk down to and along the river . You can walk some of the fs roads but it can be dusty.

Quiet, except for some generators, the camp hosts are friendly and helpful.

For you cowboy types, you can have a campfire with the camps wood.

Very quiet, on the route

We got the last spot right next to the entrance. Fire pit, picnic table, no-flush toilets close, no water to wash your hands. $22 for the night. No mobile connection at all, no Wi-Fi.

Shaded Campground Next to Creek

We loved it here! Very quiet and lots of trees for shade. It looked like most of the sites were creek-front, ours was. We set up our hammocks and enjoyed the cool breeze and sound. Bathrooms were clean and had hand sanitizer and a trash can.

Small but beautiful campground

We pulled in to get out of the snow storm and get an early dinner. Beautiful campground but very small, only 9 sites. The first site was the only one open and listed as a double. Other than two picnic tables, not sure what makes it a double. Not much room for two vehicles and certainly not multiple tent sites. But it served it’s purpose for us. There is a little road noise from the main road, but hard to hear over the rushing creek just behind the site. Amazing well water is worth the effort to hand pump.

Gorgeous !

We drove in and just expected to find a spot for a picnic. But ended up being able to camp for the night. This campground is very clean, and well-maintained. The campsites are far apart and all of them are next to a serene mountain river. There’s a tiny bit of noise from the highway above the campground but not much. they do take reservations but if a campsite is open for a few days you can pay cash and reserve it on the site

Wonderful area

We were lucky to find a spot here. The only reason to deduct a star is the fact that private inholdings share the road through the campground, increasing the traffic on the road.

Small campground nestled along a river

This beautiful campground gives you the opportunity to sleep to the sound of the river. Campsites are spread out along the river. This single file design spreads you out and gives you privacy. This is a great camp but reservations are accepted. The camp host does a great job of posting the dates that sites are available. If you’re lucky you can grab a spot for the night. Otherwise make an advance reservation.

This is the closest campground to Buffalo. It’s a beautiful town worth exploring. There is a hiking trail right at the start of the campground. Down the road is another great place to explore- Circle Park. You can hike up into the Cloudpeak wilderness.

This is such and enjoyable campground and area!
