Grant Campground—elevation 7,800 feet (2377 m)—is located in Grant Village, just off the Grand Loop Road at the south end of Yellowstone Lake. It is one of the larger campgrounds in the park with 430 sites. Group and wheel-chair accessible sites are available. Nearby there are stores, a restaurant, gas station, visitor center, and boat ramp.
ADA Access: Three accessible sites, with an extended picnic table and a raised fire grate. Accessible restrooms are located near the accessible sites. Accessible shower in Camper Services Building.
This is a massive campground setup to accommodate pretty much anything that you can throw at it. Which is good and bad. Lots of nicely maintained running water toilet facilities. Each site has a nice table and fire ring. There is plenty of potable water in multiple locations all over as well.
But it is busy, seems like people are coming and going at all times.
Nice flat sites, a decent amount of tree coverage for shading. But they are a little close so they can fit in the huge number. If you're in a tent you might want to try one of the more "remote" sites. This site is "close" to the "main" attractions, but there are others which are more central and offer better starting off points for some excellent hikes (which will definitely make you feel like you are alone as most people don't venture more than 100 yards from the main roads)
Busy campground but very great location to many of the attractions
Staying at the big campgrounds in Yellowstone is always busy and not as ideal as remote campgrounds, Grant Village is no exception. The campground is packed and the sites are pretty close together. The bathrooms are nice though, flushing with water and lit up at night. And this campground offers 1 shower per night per person. The showers aren't bad, fairly clean. Be sure to get to the shower earlier than you might like, it's usually crowded & you might have to wait before you can jump in. The showers are timed too, so you need to rush. The showers at Canyon & Fishing Bridge aren't timed, which is really nice!
site: decent sites- somewhat private and many shaded sites. medium sized. amenities: not very clean due to so many people using the facilities. attractions: quite busy! wildlife. I would probably not camp here due to how busy it seemed to be.
