We stayed at site 19, fyi, did not have electricity, and was super small. I would not recommend. On to the good stuff, the grounds are super clean and not worn down. It is small so therefore, quiet and not inundated with kids. I seen bunnies and chipmunks. There are a lot of mature trees on site, which provided abundant shade in the mid 80's. The campground hosts were kind, responsive and helpful. Sheriffs patrol the grounds and came thru twice a day. Most sites are flat. I only seen one site that was sloped. To the best of my knowledge it was within the sites 1-10 and for sure an even number. The showers provided plenty of hot water. One final note, the group site looked amazing, I'd love to rent that with friends. Happy camping!

We were looking for a quick place to stop overnight on our way out west and Tolen Creek County park did not disappoint. $38 total for an electric site. Decent park with a cool board walk around a marsh. A lot of mosquitoes thought!

Some sites have electricity, some do not. Pay attention to the map when booking for this information.

There is no water or sewer on any sites. Water and dump stations are available.

Quiet

I love this place! Near the highway and airport makes for quick access but it can get noisy. It can also get very quiet and peaceful. Lots of hiking trails and a boardwalk. Swingsets, fishing, 24/7 diner and beer sales until midnight next door.

It’s close to the highway, which is a pro and a con. Not too loud though, and electric site with enough shade trees for summer. It’s also close to Gander RV, so if you forget something it’s a short hike away. I’d say a great campground to shake out the camper early in the season before your first big trip. Nearby to all the parks on north side of Madison. So a decent stop on your way down 90/94.

This is an attractive, well-kept campground, but like a previous reviewer said, it is quite noisy, being near an airport and freeway. There seems to be only one bathroom at the end of the camp, which is where the campground host and all the RVs are. They have mowed paths through the campground as shortcuts, but for this California gal it was like running a gauntlet of mosquitos. I was bitten horribly. Bathroom was nice, two stalls, two showers and one sink.

Small campground, but you play disc golf and lovely trails! So close to get away from the city.

A quick visit during #questival!

This campground will do if you need to spend a few days sleeping outside, but its proximity to the interstate won't give you the same feeling of solitude and escape many of us find in the wilderness. There are picnic areas with covered shelters, a field for playing ball games, showers, a few bathrooms with electric outlets, and just a few miles of hiking trails through meadow, marsh, and forest.
