Solo 4 day-er

Spent four days camping here for the first time even though I grew up in the area. Didn't bother with a tent since the weather was so nice and just slept in my hammock. The water was tricky to get to because the water level was so low. Site 51 on the back loop was perfect. Nice fire ring and picnic table and the bathrooms were clean but not well stocked having no TP by Sunday afternoon.

So much fun

We stayed here Labor Day Weekend and it’s a new favorite. Very family friendly. Lots of paved roads for bike riding. Easy beach access. Lots of shade. The best part was that there were almost no bugs at all.

Nice Campground

Nice, large campground with we'll laid-out spaces and we'll maintained. You can be tucked up against the trees or down closer to river access and more sunshine. A couple of docks for fishing, hiking trails, and boat ramp. We were here right before 4th of July weekend and campground was mostly empty. Be aware of slope on most campsites. Bring your blocks. Very clean flush toilets. An active camp host who keeps his eyes on incoming folks and stops to say hello. Loved the open, yet private, feel of this place. Would return again. Campsite 48 is long parking area at 120+ feet.

Spokane History & Lots of Water

We have camped here a couple of times, once in summer with full heat and right before 4 of July weekend. The second time was in the spring when there are a lot fewer people!  Nice open areas under the trees but not a lot of privacy. There is plenty of water to play in but is better for those with speed boats. If you use kayaks, stay along the shore to avoid a dangerous situation!  The Fort still has a structure with exhibits inside to visit and a nice bluff trail that overlooks the Spokane River. Great swim area with dock for those hot summer months!

Boaters paradise

Make sure you fill your RV water before parking in your site. Reservations only no first come first serve. No cellular service, flush toilets but no showers. Site 48 has full shade great for our July visit. The only thing that bugged us was the noisy service/repair truck would squeak into campground area at 7am. As Oregon campground hosts we entered the campground at the earliest 9 on weekdays and 10 on weekends. Most of the USFS campgrounds are concessionaires with an occasional view of a ranger or law enforcement.

Right on the Spokane River & very close to Lake Roosevelt

Although there is no hookups, there are restrooms with showers, there are a couple convenience stores fairly close, one has a cafe inside & is open year round, the other side of the river has a Skippers inside and in the summer there is a restaurant in the casino at the Two Rivers Casino & Resort
