Twin Coves — Rockport State Park

My family camped here last summer and we had a good time! It was a little chilly when we were up here, but that is expected at this altitude. This area has a variety of campsites and if you want one of the sites with closer access to showers, then book early! There is also not a ton of shade, so keep that in mind. But all in all we had a great time!

Nice Area Not too Far from SLC

I liked this campground for its views and recreational opportunities.  The campsites were nice with good amentities, including your own picnic tables, BBQ sites, and it was well maintained.  The views were spectacular and loved the opportunities to get out on the water.  Very close to SLC too and we did an awesome side trip to Park City to your around and ate a delicious meal at the High West Distillery.

Had a great time at Cedar Point Campground at Rockport State Park

We love rockport and have camped here a few times. We always pick a spot near the water and each spot seems to be a good distance away from where others are camping - which is nice.

They provide wheelbarrows near the restrooms to help haul your stuff to your campsite which I thought was awesome and super helpful!

Lots of privacy! 

We stayed here on a very windy and cold Labor Day. This campground in the fall is a ways from the lake. It is a group site and is almost like camping in an open field. The Pavilion was nice for our large group 20+ people.

Crandall Campground - Rockport State Park

Once we found this gem, we have started going here every other week. Absolutely our family’s very favorite campsite! We’ve only stayed at the lower campsite called Old Church then drive to the water during the day. The camp host and his family are super awesome (and are usually selling firewood); there are plenty of restrooms; even at full capacity, it doesn’t feel (or sound) full and it stays the perfect temperature. Seriously a little bit of heaven on earth.

Our kids had a blast playing on the sandy beach area. We camped on the riverside loop and it was okay. There were not many trees and sites were close to each other but it was fine. 

Fun Reservoir

We were drawn to going to Rockport State Park because of how close it is to SLC(only about 40 minutes). The gate guards at the entrance were super nice and helpful, and guided us to the closest tent-campsite to the water. 
The campsite was very clean and offered a gazebo with a table, a fire place, and a barbecue. The camp spots are decently placed and have plenty to park your vehicle. 
Other perks of this spot are the fact that it’s dog friendly, has clean outhouses, and fresh well-water. 

Ps. Definitely bring bug spray! 

Clean, Quiet, and Close

We stayed in slot 12 and it had a beautiful view of the lake. We were close to the sand and beach and enjoyed building sand castles, fishing and taking our small raft on the lake. There was not a lot of shade, although every slot has a built in cover which was nice. There was a skunk at our tent one night but other than that we didn’t see any rodents or animals. There is a trail right off slot 12 for hiking or biking. Watch out for the cactus if you go off the trail.

Rockport State park in Utah, at the Crandall Cove sites.  Sites are well kept, the reservoir is really low. Hiking is nice. Bike trails are well kept. 
$25 per nite, no hook ups in this section, but up in Juniper section they have hook-ups, $35





Utah’s Rockport State Park Reservoir 

Campground was clean and had vault toilets. Water spicket was available but no showers (I believe there were only showers at the entrance of the park). Be aware that there are tons of bugs here, an overwhelming amount. Pack your bug spray if you’re tent camping!! Amazing views of the lake, beautiful birds, and the weather was phenomenal. Happy trails!
