## Overview

 The Little Cottonwood Campground is conveniently located off Utah's I-15, adjacent to the Beaver River just outside of the community of Beaver in the Fishlake National Forest. At 6,500 feet in elevation, this is a great place to enjoy the mountains where recreation opportunities include stream fishing, hiking, and hunting.
## Recreation

 Enjoy fishing in the Beaver River; an accessible fishing path is located within the campground. The Piute ATV Trail is nearby; however there is no access directly from the campground. Be prepared to trailer ATVs to the nearby trailheads for access. Nearby Cottonwood Trail is a horse and foot trail that is accessed through the lower part of Cottonwood Campground. This rugged trail will lead southwest for about the first two miles and then takes a sharp turn to the east through Horse Flat.
## Natural Features

 Common vegetation includes cottonwood, aspen, pinion, juniper and ponderosa pine trees. A majority of campsites at Little Cottonwood are well-shaded. The Fishlake National Forest offers spectacular vistas and opportunities to view wildlife in their natural habitat. Elk, deer, black bear, moose, cougar and mountain goats are some of the large animals that call the forest home.

Little Cottonwood Campground

A small, (14 sites), well maintained campsite, just East of Beaver, Utah, that offers easy access to a number of small lakes and reservoirs. 
The camp host on this trip was very friendly and helpful. They sell wood bundles for $6.
The camp has separate male and female restrooms with flush toilets. And, enough drinkable site faucets that almost every site has 1.
There are 2- accessible sites, and actual tent pads, not just a tent area.
The Beaver river runs right in the campground, with an accessible area, completed with a park bench to sit on.
There is also a group fire pit.


Small but nice campsite

Checked in at 8:30pm on a Monday during a cross country drive.  Host was gracious and suggested spot 12.  There  was plenty of availability even late eve (weekday).  All were good, quiet spots.  Spot 12 was across from wheelchair path to creek (Beaver River).  There was a nice bench where path met creek, great for sitting and enjoying morning coffee/fishing/relaxing.  Spots had faucet, picnic table and level tent pad filled with pea gravel-bring good footprint/tarp.  It was quiet, and the creek noise was pleasant.  The road was very close, and you could hear the traffic, but it wasn't a bother (about 2-3cars/hour).  One very nice thing about this campground is the gravel covering all the picnic/firepit and frequented areas.  This completely eliminated the dust that typically gets on everything while camping.  There was shade from trees, but this was is a pretty tight canyon, so there are very few hours of direct sunlight anyway.  Host delivered wood.  Long trails leave right from campground.  No showers, clean vault toilets.

Great Overnight stop car camping

Friendly camp host, clean toilets and campground and an amazing stream running through the campground. I would rate a 5, but there is absolutely no cellular reception. But for some, that would be a plus!

A little slice of heaven 

Convenient NFS campground close to the interstate that makes you feel you are way back in the national forest.  Small but nice campground right on the Beaver river which was flowing fast and was enjoyable to sit by.

  

Hosts were just arriving for the season and worked hard to get the restroom cleaned and functioning.  Thank you for your work! 

  

 No trash service or dumpster in campground but a collection station was only a mile away so easy to drop trash when leaving the next morning.  Water convenient to each site.  No cell service and in reach satellite struggled to get connection.  

  

Would have rated 5 stars except neighbors generator ran all night at the top of each hour for 10 minutes which diminished the enjoyment from the sounds of the river.

  

Will definitely stay here again maybe even for several days.

convenient and nice

Only 15 sites. But each site is large with a fire pit. Lots of trees. Right near the river and only 10 minutes off the 15. No cell service for Verizon.
