Campsites are tucked in the pygmy pinyon-juniper forest on the mesas above Moab, yet offer great views. Individual sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. One group site, Horsethief Group Site, is available for reservation through Recreation.gov. The area has many 4WD roads and mountain bike routes nearby. The campground is close to Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. Individual Sites: 55 (limited to 10 people & two vehicles per site); Group Site: 1 (reservable); Water: No; Toilets: Yes; Hook-ups: No. (Note: this is a different recreation site from the "Horsethief Camp" located in the Needles, CA area).

Horsethief Campground

**Campground Review:** First let me say, I have stayed at this campground before and reviewed it so check out that other review for additional information as I am going to try to provide new info about the surrounding area. Horsethief is a standard BLM managed campground. It has well maintained and stocked pit toilets, an on-site camp host in the peak season, dumpsters for trash, picnic tables, metal fire pits, and marked and level tent spots. Each camp site has room for at least two vehicles and accommodates both trailers and tents. It does not have hook-ups but it is easily accessible by both pull behind trailers or RVs. This stay was in early November. It was busy during the weekend but was dead during the week. I think my husband was one of the only sites occupied during the week which makes for a quiet camping trip. It was also quite cold—dipping into the 20s at night. So if you plan to visit in October, November, or December prepare for cold even though you are in the desert. We had a little propane heater in the tent which was quite nice. One other difference between my visit in the spring and my late fall visit was it was not overly windy. There was a slight breeze on occasion but not the high winds we experienced in the spring. We love this campground and will definitely return in our multiple trips to Moab. One final thing to note, is this camp ground is either expanding or they are building another campground right across the road because of the increased demand for quality camping close to mountain biking. I don’t have an ETA on when the new loops will be open for campers but this is great news due to the increased visitors to this site.

Horsethief Campground has become our go-to campground when we are coming to Moab to mostly mountain bike. As I mention in my other review, this spot it very centrally located and you can visit Canyonlands NP, Arches NOP, and Deadhorse State Park all within a 15 minute drive. However, the real convenience of this campground is its proximity to world class mountain biking. Every time we come, we see more and more sites filled with people with their mountain bikes in tow. We did bike this trip but because of the cold, we waited to bike until it warmed up a little bit. But anyway, this campsite is so convenient to world class mountain biking and trails for all ability levels. You can ride to Horsetheif, Mag 7, Navajo Rocks, Gold Bar (via Gemini Bridges Rd which is a dirt road), and you are a 10-15 minute car ride from the Klondike, Klonzo and Bar M trails. You can also easily arrange a bike shuttle for one way trips. My husband and I were able to do a shuttle between the two of us—we dropped the Jeep off at a trail head down the road, then over biked 12 miles to the car from our campsite then drove back. Super easy and convenient and the go-to site for mountain bikers.

**Product Review:** As a Ranger for The Dyrt, I get the opportunity to test out gear from our awesome partners from time to time. This time, I was able to test out the Midland [MXT275 MicroMobile](https://www.amazon.com/Midland-MicroMobile-Two-Way-Integrated-Microphone/dp/B07FN2FBML/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1537543911&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=mxt275+micromobile) base station. I have also had the opportunity to test out another product from Midland (the X-TALKER T51X3VP3 Two-Way Radio) which we used when testing out the base station. My husband and I installed this in our Jeep Wrangler which has been out fitted for rock crawling (hence why we are in Moab a lot). First impressions: this little unit was super easy to install and use right out of the box. My husband loves radios and communication devices and has a CB, Ham Radio, and now GMRS radio all installed in the Jeep. He was able to fit the small, and sleek device easily among all his gadgets without taking up too much space. You can hardwire the radio into the vehicle or just plug it into the cigarette lighter (12v power jack). We used the plug in so we can unplug it if we are not going to be using it for a while. One other benefit is it has a USB port which allows you to charge other devices (like your hand held radios) while driving. It has 15 channels—half of which provide a higher power transmit (since it does not have a mic gain) to improve range. It is also feels really durable considering it is a small, compact and sleek unit. We are not easy on our gear and we feel this unit will be able to take a beating.

_Usage Impressions_**:** My husband was able to test out this in a variety of situations. He tested range with his friend who was sitting at home (using a non-Midland radio) in Heber City, UT and Jeremy was driving. He was able to get about 10 miles in this situation with super clear sound and transmission. We also tested range between two moving vehicles driving on Highway 6 to Moab. The jeep obviously had the base station and I had a handheld X-talker in my car. We were able to get at least 5 miles between vehicles while both were moving and going through the winding canyons/mountain passes. We were also on the higher channels which boosts the transmission signals. One huge bonus was the volume of the speaker. It was loud enough to be heard clearly over the elevated road noise of driving a lifted Jeep at high speeds on the highway. He came through super clear on my handheld and I couldn’t detect much of the surrounding noise.

_Overall evaluation:_ we love this little unit. It just allows us to have another means of communication when we are traveling in the backcountry and cell reception is spotty. The sound quality cannot be beat and has the same quality whether you are using another Midland radio or a different brand. How we foresee using this more in the future, is when we are backcountry car camping or hunting where we need to set up some type of base camp while we go out and explore. It will also be great when we are doing bike shuttles and people aren’t stopping at the same trail heads. If you are looking to get a non-handheld radio that has awesome range, clarity and durability for a great price—the [MXT275 MicroMobile](https://www.amazon.com/Midland-MicroMobile-Two-Way-Integrated-Microphone/dp/B07FN2FBML/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1537543911&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=mxt275+micromobile) base station should be on your short list of options if not the only one.

Ranger Review: Midland MXT275 MicroMobile GMRS Two-Way Radio @ Horsethief

On Utah 313, 12 miles from Hwy 191 Elevation 5800 and offering 56 sites and can accommodate RV's (no hookups). Great views for sunrise and sunset! All BLM campgrounds and camping areas have vault toilets, fire rings, are open year round, and a fee is charged / collected at self pay station at entrance. No firewood gathering (available at convenience stores in Moab). Camping at all sites is limited to 14 days within a 30 day period. Be prepared for wind. Ground is pretty hard and tough to get tent stakes in - we tied down to rocks on site. About a 15 min ride from Arches and about 30 min from Moab. A great place to get away form the crowds!

Best Views for Sunrise and Sunset - Close to Arches NP

**Campground Review:**We stayed at the Horsethief Campground for 10 days in April. Horsethief is North of Moab between Canyonlands and Arches. This was a very clean and kept up campground with three loops and one way roads. The bathrooms are standard pit toilets but very clean and well stocked. The campground was sold out many of the nights we were there as people tend to head to the desert for a few days when ski season ends and you could not tell the heavy usage of the bathrooms. Camp host is very nice and there when you need them. Sites were close to each other but you didn’t feel on top of your neighbor or in a position where you didn’t have some privacy. Standard amenities: picnic table, fire pit, 2-car parking spots, tent areas or longer driveways to accommodate RVs or trailers. Obviously, some spots are better suited for trailers/RVs then others. There is also a campground dumpster which was awesome so you didn’t have to go to town to pack out your trash. The only negative is not really the fault of the campground but it was really windy many of the days. This made us alter our outing plans just a little and started to wear on our nerves/patience as cooking in the wind can be quite a challenge. This is definitely a campground we will return to when we visit Moab.

The best part of the campground was its location to our desired activities. This trip was mostly for mountain biking then off-roading. There are so many awesome mountain bike trails right next to the campground that you don’t have to drive to a trailhead unless you want to. Even then, the trailheads are a 5-10 minute drive away. There are trails for all ability levels but definitely more options if you are an intermediate and above rider. You are also close to state and national parks and a 20 minute drive into Moab as well as close to many good Jeep trails. Due to the wind and my newness to mountain biking we ended up doing more in car activities then usual such as new Jeep trails, fossil hikes, and state park visits. Finally, the campground is on BLM land so the roads pass through a lot of open range so watch out for cows crossing and being herded down the road. With the open range, the super fun part about visiting in the spring is seeing all the baby cows while you are driving in.

As a Ranger for the Dyrt, I get the opportunity to test out gear from our partners once in a while. So, while we were at Horsethief, we got to try out the [Midland X-Talker two-way radio three pack.](https://midlandusa.com/product/x-talker-t51x3vp3-two-way-radio-three-pack/) We used these primarily when we were on our jeep trails. Since it is important to be in communication between vehicles when running a trail, these radios were awesome and worked as good as or better than a CB.

Pros:

*   Long battery life. These lasted longer than expected with just the factory charge.
*   Clear audio. These were used in primarily close range but between vehicles and the sound quality was super clear—no static or garbled transmissions. We could even hear other people from across the river as if they were standing right next to us.

*Good distance. Obviously the number of objects between radios can affect your distance but for what we were using them for it was great and I would feel comfortable having the radios farther apart and still be able to use them.

*   We got a 3 pack! The more radios in use the more sites can stay connected.
*   Easy to use. These radios have so many functions and abilities that it can get overwhelming but navigating the functions was pretty easy and the owner’s manual was clear.

Cons:

*   We got a 3 pack but the charging cradle only holds 2\. This isn’t really a negative but does require additional planning if you want to use all three radios and ensuring they all have the same charge.
*   Not really a con, but I may never utilize all the features that these radios offer, they are that awesome.

Summary:

We are super excited to have these radios as part of our car camping and general gear arsenal. Because cell phones don’t always work or have service (especially in the backcountry), having another form of communication is important. Being able to use these in the winter when snowshoeing or touring will be great or for jeeping, mountain biking, hiking, and hunting in the summer/fall. They are compact, powerful, and easy to use.

Ranger Review: Horsethief Campground and the Midland X-TALKER 3-pack

Horsethief is one of many BLM campgrounds in the Moab area. Most are along the Colorado River but this one is about 30 minutes from Moab on the way to Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point State Park. Arches is also easily accessible from here.

There are almost 60 sites. There is no electricity, water or dump station, and there are vault toilets. Only complaint is that the large sites mean you get some big campers that need to use their generators. Generators are allowed between 8 am and 8 pm, but some people ignore that rule. It would be nice if the BLM divided a campground like this into generator and no generator sections. There are 3 loops here; it's large enough for that.

Activities: mountain biking trails, 1.5 mile loop hiking trail with a nice view of mountains to the south.

A great alternative when the Island in the Sky Campground at Canyonlands is full (or if you're just looking for something else up on the mesa), Horsethief Campground is a relatively well developed BLM campground. There are pit toilets, established tent pads, fire pits, and picnic tables at each site. I camped the first week of October and arrived after 5pm yet there were still several sites to choose from. The campground filled up as the evening went on.

Note that at certain times of the year there is NO WATER anywhere up by the Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands, at Dead Horse State Park, or elsewhere. Make sure you have enough water before you begin your ascent.

Horsethief Campground is a few miles away from the Canyonlands entrance and thus it's easy to get between the two in a matter of minutes. There are also mountain bike trails and hiking trails that leave from Horsethief campground. The views are incredible no matter which trail you take. 

I got up early in the morning to drive into Canyonlands to see the sunrise at Mesa Arch. It was beautiful and very much worth the early morning but it was also very crowded with other people to watch the sunrise.

Gorgeous Location, Out of the Way

After a day of exploring Arches National Park and having Canyonlands in our sites for the next day, we needed a place to sleep. Being the "fly by the seat of our pants" folks that we are, we had made no prior plans. Dead Horse Point was full so we made our way over to Horsethief Campground. We grabbed the last open site!

It was pretty standard campground camping. Enclosed vault toilets, picnic tables, fire pits, designated tent pads, scrub and trees between sites. I will say the toilets smelled super clean and there was not a piece of trash or paper anywhere. Considering the place was totally full, there must have been a lot of detail paid to cleanliness. We did some walking, some chatting with neighbors, and some pictures of the sunset. The next morning we woke up to a couple inches of snow! Made for our day in Canyonlands a bit of a bummer as it was cold, snowy, and foggy.

This is a great spot to stay for it's proximity to Arches, Canyonlands, and Moab. Not much in the way of cover or protection so inclement weather may not be very fun. Shoulder season where you are not seeking shade or cover from rain, it's great! If location is everything, Horsethief gets an A+!

**Campground Review:**

Great access to two National Parks, plus mountain biking for all skill levels! The trails from the campground are considered "easy" but more intermediate and advanced trail systems are not far away, including the amazing trail system at Dead Horse Point State Park. Gravel/sand riding is also an option, there are several jeep trails that are quite enjoyable. After you burn your legs out from all that riding, make sure to check out Arches and Canyonlands for breathtaking scenery and an amazing cultural experience.

This campground has an amazing family friendly and welcoming atmosphere. If you're lucky to snag a spot before its full, I highly recommend this campground.

**Product Review**

As a Ranger for The Dyrt, I occasionally have the opportunity to test out gear from time to time. On this trip, the conditions were perfect to test out the [Aftershokz Trekz Air Headphones](https://aftershokz.com/products/trekz-air). These are THE headphones for active sports. They are bone conducting and sit on the edge of your ears. This allows you to hear noises around you while listening to music. This is fairly important while mountain biking; e.g. when your partner yells "SHARP LEFT" to you to avoid crumpling into a juniper tree while listening to "Hooked on a Feeling" (ooga chaka ooga chaka).

It did take some trial and error to figure out the right part of my head for the headphones to work the best (my husband on the other hand had no problem when he gave them a try). They hook over the ears, but the sound mechanism itself needs to sit on the bones that are in front of your ears. Once I figured that out, operating them while wearing sunglasses and a bike helmet was no problem. They are so lightweight, they were unnoticeable aside from the sound of the music I was playing. Yet they were still secure: they stayed in place even while making a bumpy, rocky descent.

_Pros:_ Lightweight; can hear other humans, cars, etc; great sound quality; ease of use; water/sweat resistance; easy to clean; fits under helmet; fits with glasses; ability to take calls; stays in place.

_Cons:_ Optimum sound quality may take a few uses to dial in; not noise cancelling (but earplugs were included if you need this).

I will be making the [Aftershokz Trekz Air Headphones](https://aftershokz.com/products/trekz-air) a part of my kit for biking, climbing, running, and skiing. Their small size and convenient carry case makes them ideal for travel.

Ranger Review: Aftershokz Trekz Air Headphones at Horsetheif Campground

The campground is rather quiet with ample space between sites. No water, but vault toilets were clean. It’s conveniently located just outside of Dead Horse state park and Canyonlands National Park: Island in the sky entrance. We stayed here one night because we couldn’t find camping in the NP at Island in the sky (willow flat) campground. Very clean and on the RV side of the campground had nice big flat areas for tents. The fee was $20 and you payed at those iron ranger kiosk’s (envelope drop). Would stay here again as the temperature stayed 10
degrees cooler than downtown Moab. 

Quiet Campground

This campground is situated conveniently in-between Arches and Canyonlands. I’ve stayed here a few times and I’ve never seen it full so it’s an easy spot to get a FCFS site. It’s also usually quiet, clean, and away from town.

It helps that most of the sites also have a great view.

We stopped here for just one night to experience Canyonlands and Arches. We setup here in the afternoon after deciding on this place over a dispersed area on 191. We picked 23 because it was next to the bathrooms (vault toilets) and what we thought were the best views. The bathroom did start to smell, so next time we’d probably setup a few sites down.

After returning from a night-hike at Delicate Arch, we came home to the Big Dipper sitting above our tent. This was a great area, although not very private. A typical campground setup, we were just lucky that there were maybe only 3 other groups at the time. If I were to do a similar trip again, I’d most likely go for the free dispersed area back on 191. I love the campground, but I would have been just as happy down the road and to save the$20.

Close to Canyonlands - Higher Price

This $20/night BLM campground has a nice setup with good spacing between the sites, great views, and restrooms and garbage spread  decently across the campground so no one area is overused/busy or annoying to the surrounding sites. We arrived pretty late in the day and so ended up fairly close to a restroom and there were no issues (even with our always on alert dogs who like to announce any intruding forces they can sense are invading their territory).

We were setting up during golden hour and the sunset was amazing. The night sky even more so—completely clear and gorgeous views of all the constellations.

It was a pretty quiet campground, even being almost full (we stayed on a Tuesday  night, though, so could imagine it being louder on the weekend). The campground was arranged in two different areas, a tent only side and an RV/tent side with sites that all had good, fairly flat parking pads for RVs, as well as tent pad, fire pit, and picnic table. We still needed to do little leveling of our small RV, but not too bad. 

Usually, we tend to avoid campgrounds in favor of dispersed camping, but we were tired, we needed a site with quick access to Canyonlands in the morning and honestly just didn’t feel like driving around searching as it was getting dark. We’d definitely stay again in similar circumstances, but would probably check out the dispersed camping in the area if we had more time to devote.

Amazing views, good value

Horsethief Campground is a BLM campground between Moab and the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. Besides easy access to many mountain biking trails, Horsethief Campground makes a great base camp for exploring both Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park.

Great Basecamp for Exploring Arches & Canyonlands National Parks

This is a great campground close to Canyonlands and Arches National Park.  Sites are large and quite private.  Facilities are clean.  You have to get here early if you don't have reservations because the campground will fill up.  Wish we could have stayed a few more days.

Close to Canyonlands NP

There are now a total of 85 sites, with some "tent only" added across the road to the north. It says "tent only", but really means no trailers are large RVs because the parking spaces are small. Vans and trucks are OK (we were not hassled about our FlipPac). 

There are 5 group sites that can be reserved.

There are some nice easy MTB loops around the campground.

I thought about dinging it by one star because some people drive very fast on the BLM340 road between the two halves of the campground which can kick up a bunch of dust and noise, but it's really only a problem for a few sites.

Expanded this year

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights while traveling to Canyon Lands and Arches National Parks. It’s perfectly located right in between the two parks! 

Clean bathrooms, quite and cozy. 

Wonderful Location! 

We camped at Horsethief Campground for 3 nights in May.  We arrived a little after noon on a Thursday and after chasing down a windward tent blowing through one of the campground loops, found several sites available in the Apache loop. We selected site 9 as it was close to the restroom. A pit toilet, but a clean and well stocked one-had toilet paper and hand sanitizer! Site had minimal to no shade for most of the day. Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph for all of Thursday and Friday. Had some rain as well for most of the day Friday. While most of our day was spent away from our site, we returned each evening to our tent, a little worse for the wear due to the strong winds, but still intact. The campground was in a perfect spot for those wanting to explore Arches and Canyonlands, as it was pretty much right in the middle between them. By Saturday the wind had died down enough to sit by a fire and stargaze. The clear skies and absence of ambient lighting made the stargazing incredible. There were several RV'S surrounding our tent, but generators were all off by 8, and sites were spread out enough that there was little to no disturbance from the neighbors. Overall, would stay here again...but I have to buy a new tent first. The wind and rain was too much for my 10+ year old  Coleman 8 person Evanston tent. 

RIP Evanston

Arrived on a Tuesday late afternoon and the camp was pretty empty. I took site 11 for the view and it was lovely (13 looked even better though) . There is a little hiking path around the camp and I think an ATV area, but there wasn't anyone really using either while I was there.  Beautiful sunset,  sunrise, and a lot of stars. Windy in the evening, but settled down at night. Great spot to stay if you want to make it to Canyonlands for daybreak.

Great for visiting Arches!

There are only a few sites that have any shade cover. This wasn’t a problem for us since we have a canopy but may be for others. The stars at night here are truly incredible to see.
Would stay again. Very close to canyonlands and dead horse point state park. Arches and Moab are also accessible, but a bit further. Plenty of space between sites.

Near miles of mountain bike trails. Clean, well-stocked pit toilets. No water or shade. Sites are decently separated but with few bushes and trees, it's easy to see and hear other people. Poor cell service at my site but better elsewhere in the campground. 

Good location

If you're looking for a well-kept paid campground outside of Moab, this is the place. There are trails through the campground and many, many options for biking near by. Fairly close to Dead Horse State Park as well! Likely very hot in the summer months, not a lot of shade up there.

Horsethief CG is a large BLM CG, no reservations, only FF, about 50+ spots in original CG but 25 more in the new loop for tenters and van/truck campers.  Mt bike trails leave right from the CG to Navajo Rocks or to Mustang loops.  This CG is dry camping, NO water so come prepared.  There are vault toilets and a large dumpster at CG entrance. Sites have tables and fire rings.  Cell signal is best along the upper loops close to the Mineral Point road. Verizon, ATT and TMobile all  two bars LTE.  UPDATE: BLM has installed a new remote pay system that uses CC and prints site# receipts..very cool!!

This BLM campground has 3 loops and sites are first come first serve. The sites have picnic tables and fire pits and have varying degrees of levelness. The loops and sites are dirt/gravel and are mostly smooth and there were all size rigs there. 

  

Across the way are two other sections of this campground, one is for tents only and the other is groups only and both areas were full as well. This is a very busy campground and we were lucky to snag the last spot. As soon as people leave a site it fills up so be aware your best chances may be in the morning or off season. 

  

This campground has access to a plethora of hiking and single track mountain biking trails that vary in degrees of difficulty. The trails are clearly marked with color coded paint on the ground to indicate which trail you are on as they may overlap or cross each other. The hiking was great just keep your head up for the bikers. Trails are geared toward mountain bikers, but hikers (and dogs) are allowed. E-bikes, pedal assist, and other motorized vehicles not allowed except on the main ATV roads. 

  

There are vault toilets and a large garbage dumpster just outside the campground on the main dirt road. No water! There were 2 hosts on site and they did rounds throughout the day to keep up on the coming and going traffic of campers.

A BLM road leads you to the campground from HWY 313. Groups site available and individual spots with up to 2 vehicles and 10 persons. I stayed at the individual site. Bathroom facilities were available and one of the cleanest I've experienced from any campground. $20 a night $10 with an access pass.

Horsethief

Really enjoyed our stay at this campground. Plenty of room and there was not much competition for sites in the tent only loop first weekend of June. Site 24 is the best in my opinion due to ample shade and it’s proximity to the restroom. It is also second from last on the loop meaning you won’t be disturbed by returning traffic. Got decent verizon service there which was nice. MTB trails leave from the RV loop and took a second to find the trailhead but found some nice beginner trails to practice. 

Easy drive to Canyonlands and Arches/Moab,  both just about 30 minutes. Definitely a great staging spot for your adventure!

Excellent Campground Equidistant to  Canyonlands and Arches

This BLM campground is situated upon the plateau road near the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. It offers a variety of simple individual and group sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and varying degrees of privacy. The bathrooms are all pit toilets, and kept very clean. Water can be found at the National Park visitor’s center, or in the State Park, or back in town at the town park or outdoor gear store.  If you run on solar like we do, you are guaranteed plenty of power.

  

These campsites are awesome because of their proximity to the hiking, cycling, slick rock mountain biking, rock climbing and paddling opportunities, that the Moab area is known for. The view from any campsite upon the plateau is a stunner and makes you think that $20 a night is a pretty good bargain, and with the cooler temperatures than the canyon below! Moab offers all the amenities of a small town that thrives on tourism without the sprawling consumerism of the suburbs. If you can’t get it there, you probably don’t need it. 

  

Arches National Park is about 30-40 minutes away. The entrance to the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park, as well as Dead Horse State Park, are within 20 minutes.

Inexpensive & Close to Some Awesome Utah Parks

Tent camping in October, area was clean and pleasant.  No covering to get away from the sun.  Would only camp here during the summer as a last resort or if I pack shade.

The RV side was already full so I opted to stay on the tent/small vehicle side with my camper van. Space 6 was on an incline for parking. I tried to park horizontally but they made me move and said the officer would write me a ticket if I wasn’t on the gravel. Fire pit was nice. Picnic table. Close to the bathroom.

Very popular campground in mid October!  Moab area was very busy!  The campground was full so we checked the group camp.  Someone had cancelled.  The board on site had not been updated but the website (BLM) said that group site D had switched to FCFS.  With 2 trailers and 4 people we were able to be a group.  We tucked both our trailers in easily.  (21 ft and 25ft).  Sits atop a mesa with expansive views.  Great stargazing !the main campground was lovely too.  There were some small sites and some that big rigs could fit.  No Verizon Service.
Easy access to Dead Horse Point and Canyonlands NP.

Close to Canyonlands and Arches and perfect for our late night visit to Astro fest at Canyonlands!

Great in between parks spot 

We camped here as we were exploring Canyon Lands. Since it's BLM, all of the sites were first come first serve. It was a Friday night and there were still tons of sites available. 

We got in and set up before sunset and got to watch the sky burn as the sun went down. 

Host was very friendly and informative. Had firewood for sale for a few dollars a bundle as well. 

Sites were well spaced out and had quite a bit of room for activities - tables, tent pads, fire pits. There were bathrooms on site as well. 

I will for sure be coming back here. 10/10

Incredible location

Great BLM campsite near Canyonlands and Dead Horse. Plenty of spots available with good sized campsites with fire ring and picnic table. There is a tent only side which was great to not have noisy generator sound. Beautiful sunset views. Only downside - 3 black widow spiders seen in the pit toilets!!! Be aware before you sit!
