Small, well kept

We stayed at site 8 which is creekside. It was a large, beautiful site and the sound of the burbling water lulled us to sleep every night. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and modern (tiled, not concrete block for a change). The only downside to the area is the quantity of timber rattle snakes that we encountered, one at our site and one in the woods nearby. Something to keep in mind if you have pets or small children.

Pretty Place

Been here quite a few times. Its cool to see the hang gliders jumo off and ride the wind. Nice picnic areas and some trails. Worth the drive.

Amazing views near by!!

Campground has some very good sites with electric. Very nice pool to swim in during the hot summer. Has some great trails to hike to as well. Next door at hyner view you can see an amazing view of the susquehanna river.

Great view!

At the lookout, the view is beautiful. There are nice trails all around and it is a worthwhile stop.

Susquehanna River views, dense forest

Great place to stay, lots to do in the area including other state parks and forests. Hiking, swimming, taking in the views. Small streams mean tons of bugs, but not much worse than the rest of PA. We stayed in the cabin in winter but we've also done a day visit in the summer. Really pretty tall pine trees in a lot of the campgrounds. Didn't stay in tent sites but they seemed rather spread out for a state park campground. Everything clean and well cared for.
