Mohican camping offers family camping in our Primitive Camping sites, as well as Full Hook-Up for RVs and Campers. Each camping site comes with a picnic table and fire ring. RV sites come full service with 30/50 amp electricity, water, and sewer. A dump station is also located on the grounds.
The Mohican Adventures experience was nothing short of wonderful. Me and a friend went in the middle of the week and as a result practically had the entire Buzzard section of the Primitive tent camping section to ourselves. The few staff members we did talk to were helpful and informative. To our pleasure we were generally left alone for the two nights we had stayed. Given that only a small handful of campers had shown up during the middle of the week and only one set of campers chose the Primitive sites we were allowed to chose any campsite available and were not forced to stick with the one we had reserved originally. This worked greatly in our favor seeing as the original campsite we chose did not have the require space needed for our two tents. We took advantage of their seven mile canoe trip which was rich with scenery and again, given the time we had choosen to go, we enjoyed much solitude on the river which took about 2.15 hours to traverse in our canoe.
Mohican Adventures is a great place for families with things like go-karts, aerial obstacle course, and other fun outdoor activities available. They also offer cabins and RV sites for those wanting a more modern camp experience. They also offered several bathroom locations and a shower house which were sufficiently clean. Definitely would recommend. The only downsides in my opinion is that if you choose to walk by foot around the campground rather then drive your car to the activities across the road then you better be prepared to climb some steep hills. Also the campsites are very close together so should you choose a time when they're busy, chances are you will be very close to other campers. All in all we had a great time and plan to go again.
Great campground with lots to do! RV sites are a little small and close together, but comes with a picnic table and fire pit. There are back in and pull through RV spots - along with nice shady spots for rent camping. Cabins are also available. Great spot to camp if interested in tubing/canoeing/kayaking down Mohican river. When you arrive everyone in the vehicle checks in, and then someone on a golf cart takes you to your spot. Campground has an indoor pool and hot tub. Also has pond with paddle boards and paddle boats that need to be reserved at additional cost. Quite a few playgrounds available and mountain bike trails. Small creek runs along the campground. All guests are given a wrist band that gives you a discount at the Trails End restaurant and at Mohican Adventures across the street.
We were able to get friends together at Mohican Adventures for and evening together camping. The site itself is great, individual sites varied in size to so it was easy to accomodate all of us relatively close together. It was quiet and only a few others primative camping besides us so it felt nice and private. It was really nice camping in a site so heavily wooded. The staff was a little difficult registering us in and the bathhouse bathroom stalls are way too small, but all in all… we would go back for primative camping again. Mohican Adventures is very close to hiking and other activities in Mohican State Park and with the state park campground all reserved till kingdom come, Mohican Adventures was a blessing for all of us.
Overall Very nice campground. Family fun activities clean shower house. RV tent and cabins available. Boat launch available. We stayed in a small group of sites which made it safe for kids to run around and play.
We camped here off season and had the place to ourselves. We had a pull through site which was gravel. The staff is friendly and the indoor pool and shower houses were amazing. The sites seemed a little small so it might feel crowded during peak season.
Private campground with lots to do. Full hook-ups, indoor pool, volleyball sand area, lake for catch and release, good wifi, kayaking/tubing opportunities in the Mohican River that runs through the area. The price includes 2 campers per site and anyone extra is $10 a night. We’be never encountered that and seems excessive. Amish Country is miles away.
The primitive sites are literally carved out of the side of a hill. The site we chose was on a plateau overlooking the lake and I'd recommend that to anyone! Right across from a canoe livery that we had so much fun with!!
Highly recommend this campground.
