We were looking for a site near Gallup NM to camp for a few days to checkout 4 corners and other places. We read some bad reviews of the campground but decided to give it a try. The online booking was super easy. Almost immediately got conformation with site number and bathroom codes. We were in our RV so the codes were not needed. There is no camp host or office. Just go to your site and hookup. The site was clean with 50 amp power and water, it also had a small BBQ, picknick table and was fairly level. The site was under $25 for the night. We stayed for a couple of nights. The red rocks around the camp were awesome. Trash cans were close to our site and someone picked it up daily. The RV dump was near our site with water to flush the system and top off water before the next adventure. 

We recommend this campground and would stay here again if in the area.

Stayed here after a long day on the road for some shut eye. Booked online and confirmation was immediately sent via email that included the bathroom door code. Arrived after hours without issue. Showered in the morning and left without ever having to talk to any staff. Would not recommend for tents due to sandy and small sites, but great option for sleeping in your car. Make sure to select dry camping if you aren’t using water or electricity at the site for a discount. One night total was $13.81. Can’t beat that.

You get what you pay for. $22 for water and electricity is a bargain.. but…. We booked spot 47 online and got 64, without notice. Facilities are outdated, not well kept. Restrooms were heated to 80F but the showers were warm at best. Doors of toilet did not lock.

But staying in this red rock canyon and walking the church rock and pyramid rock is a once in a lifetime experience

Most cramped campsite I've ever seen, absolutely no privacy between sites. Staff was unhelpful when we arrived and someone was in our reserved spot (which they require reservations online). We ended up going elsewhere.

I stayed at the main camp ground. Some sites were right on top each other. It was clean and well cared for. I was there in April and it was not full, so the sites being right wasn't and issue for me. I didn't take the trails, but by what I could tell they were well marked. If you have the time do explore some beauty in those rocks!

A little nervous by the other reviews but it was getting late and we needed a place to hookup. The website for reserving was difficult to navigate on my phone but it all worked out. No staff on site that we could see so we just pulled into an open spot & hooked up. Beautiful/unique location. Bathrooms were open for us to use, warm, & clean. Didn’t need a key like the reservation had said. Probably not the best campground for tent camping due to gravel lots, but for our 30 ft RV, we had no trouble. We didn’t have a chance to explore the area but would definitely come back.

A small campground located a few miles outside Gallup and two miles from a casino. The reservation website can be a little confusing, so be careful. There is a nice hike that starts at the campground.

Sites are tight and kinda a trashy campground. Definitely won’t stay here again.

1 star for the following reasons: 1) bathroom is locked until you get a key. 2) Their website says that there are tent sites. You will be pitching a tent in an rv site. 3)Even once you do go to register on their site, an awful experience that is on a timer and will reset mid registration (yes all your info). You have to choose a discount to get the tent by rate. 4) Map is awful, because the numbers of aren't on well lit and there are no signs. Good luck not waking everybody up. 5) There's a train audible from here. 6) the best view is of the stars. 7) Maze to get here.
All of these reasons are completely verifiable, but i don't suggest it. When i think of campgrounds from hell, this will be my go to. I want my money back.

Nice view on red rock. Water available at the camping spot. Price for dry camping ok.

We only had trouble with he reservation site as it crashed during payment as it asked to confir m if our rig was not too big but we couldn't confirm this again.

Level dirt sites. Closer to each other but enough space to enjoy the scenery. Great hikes and good views. During the windy season, the sand will blast you and all equipment (bring good tie downs)

This is a huge complex that contains a convention center, museum, hiking trails, and a rodeo/bull riding arena in addition to two camping areas. The arena is tucked into the red hills so it is a pretty nice spot. There also must be 1000 stalls for horses and livestock, it is really massive. The campground area and arena are cradled by spectacular red cliffs formed over 200 million years ago in the Age of the Dinosaurs. Campsites have water and electric. Many of the sites have shade. Sites are very sandy and some have a picnic table. Access was pretty easy and the sites are very level. Overall though the campground was pretty messy. It does not seem like it is being well maintained at the moment probably due to Covid restrictions. There are restrooms but most of the time they were locked. Verizon cell service was very good and our AT&T hotspot worked well.

Drove in here late in the day (about 9:30pm) to find the bathrooms locked and sites full of RVs. Turns out their policy is that you get a key to the bathroom if you check in, and the office closes at 4:30pm, so if you haven't arrived by then you are going to be looking for a place to squat, and good luck finding one that's not in sight of at least 8 other campers.

Unpowered sites are $10 and powered are $20. The rock in the area is pretty, but that's about it. Otherwise this is an unpleasant, muddy city park with little to offer. Keep on driving, if you ask me!

I have stayed at this campground several time it was a New Mexico Stae Park, it has since been turned over to the city of Gallup as a city park. There are several hiking and horseback riding trails around this campground. One of the best is to castle rock a really good hike. Make sure you call to check for availability, there is a rodeo arena near by and will fill up if there is a rodeo.

More a stopover Park, Red Rock is nestled amongst beautiful sandstone cliffs that are mesmerizing. There are full hook ups available, and bathroom/showers as well. Take a hike to Bell Rock, or gaze night skies.

My first visit to New Mexico and the southwest. Red Rock Park is in Gallup, NM right on the Arizona state line in between Albuquerque and Flagstaff. Church Rock Trial and Pyramid Rock Trail are both about 3 to 3 and a half miles round trip from the campground. Your surrounded by desert on one side and dark red stone on the other, very cool place and trails.
