Great camping

Nice little campground we stayed there for two nights last October. The walking path along the creek was nice. Our spot was facing the entrance so a lot of car lights hitting the tent at night. Other spaces further away from the entrance would have been better. AT&T has no service there, but there is a store 1 mile away that will give you the wi-fi password if you buy something.

Quiet and Clean

The campground is very well maintained, camp host makes sure that restrooms are clean and smell free. Campsites are clean. Actual sites are paved, with gravel areas for tents. Fire pits are large and well built. Nice walking path along the stream/creek. Good place to take a walk after munching down on your favorite camp food.

Very clean & nice camp host

My family stayed here last weekend at site 29 (a tent-only site like 27&28). 26 is handicap and 27 and 28 have shade all day. 29 does not have shade however you can go up behind the site where there’s a nice clearing where we set up a few chairs and table to play board games. These sites have no drive way just a shared parking lot where the bathroom and drinking water is located. You’ll need to haul your things to your site.

Drinking water was close enough to camp and the camp host was very friendly. There’s a paved trail that runs along the campground and the stream. It was very nice to take my young boys to play in the stream as it wasn’t very deep. No firewood available to buy but down at Amanda’s but if you cross the stream you’ll find plenty of downed branches.

Exploring the campground you’ll find everything is paved, RV site 3 accommodates 2 and the RV sites seem well spaced except for 1 and 2 that doesn’t provide much privacy from each other. Bathrooms are clean, the small paved trail has a couple benches to sit on.

If you continue past this campground you’ll find Fenton Lake for fishing and if you have little ones (age 11 and under) you can continue up to the hatchery for free fishing for the kiddos. They’re pretty much guaranteed to catch something.

Awesome Place in the Jemez Mountains

San Antonio is a great little facility offering sites from tents to RV electric. There is potable water and toilets. The sites are generally shaded and well spaced. And best of all, San Antonio Creek runs alongside the length of the campground. You’re close by the Valles Caldera, and awesome fly fishing spots. It’s a great escape for us city dwellers in ABQ.

Bonus tip- the Longmire TV series was filmed in the Valles Caldera. Visit Walt’s cabin!
