I stayed here last minute because on my previous camping trip my gear was soaked, and I can't dry out my gear in my apartment. So I chose to come here and I'm so glad I did!

The park itself is smaller. The campground only has three loops. There's one loop that is primitive, while the other two have electric hook up.

My favorite part of this campground is the gorgeous trees.

I saw lots of deer and a turtle laying eggs!

It has a small beach and a fishing pier (i think a spot to launch boats too but I could be remembering wrong).

Campground host was super friendly and came by to say hi. At one point, there was a tornado warning and she literally drove to my campsite to let me know and made sure I got to the shelter. (there didn't end up being a tornado, just a gnarly storm).

We went post-season camping with friends. The water and showers were shut off, and the agate center was closed. Despite being post-season, the vault toilets were clean and stocked with TP (though these did not have hand sanitize), and firewood was available for purchase using a QR code. Cell service was fine. We walked the trails and head them mostly to ourselves. We only saw one large RV and one tent that weekend. It snowed overnight, so we went into town for a hearty breakfast!

Very well laid out campground with large sites. Unbelievable AGATE MUSEUM at the main entrance. Men’s bathroom was very clean and showers worked great. Nice well groomed trails, well maintained campsites and campgrounds. Tall pines trail is beautiful, not real long. Nice picnic area on the trail across the blacktop road.

Nice little state park close to the cities. Had about 30 sites with k this electric and non electric options. Good variety of sites. Lots of birds here…not a bad thing but it was nice when they woke you up in the morning to their songs! I would recommend coming during the week not the weekend as it is a little slower.

Small, roughly 35 sites. Some electric some non-electric. Campground has multiple vault toilets and 1 bath house.

Great spot! The campsite host was helpful for local fire rules and helping to point out water spouts. The trails are nice walking trails with picturesque views of the lake. Campsite fee was $23, vehicle registration $7 for the day, firewood $6 for the day. Main cabin was closed for the season but they have a self service pay station. They have sites with power and without, we chose a site without power but we are close to the bathroom and the showers aren’t far from us.

We camped here mid-week and the place was not full so it was quiet and sites have trees and shrubs for some privacy. We saw a Baltimore Oriole which is something we don't see often in Northern MN.

I came out of the BWCA near Grand Marais late in the day and so wanted to stop somewhere to camp as I headed south before dark. There were plenty of spots available online at this little park. It was clean and the campsites were fine—could see my neighbors without much tree cover though.

If the weather had been better when I woke up I would have hiked some trails or paddled the lake. Next time!

Nice campsites not too far from the lake. Not a ton of hiking but the trails that are there are nice. Good fishing right off shore.

Nice bathrooms and showers! Cool agate museum! Close to Duluth

This is a beautiful state park. It's quite large and has nice hiking trails. Agates are common in this area. The park office has a wonderful display of agates set up in an interactive gallery.
