Have stayed a couple of times. Secluded clean spot with 6 sites. Short hike to river.
Quiet, no frills campground by a river out in the woods.
It is a great and mostly empty spot for primitive camping. There’s a fire pit with built in rack for stove top/ grill stuff as well as a post and hook to hang things from and a picnic table. Plenty of trees to set up a hammock and enough room to park an SUV, put up a 4 person tent, set up chairs around the fire, and still have a lot of room. Gravel road leading to the location and it’s pretty far from most things. There’s a handful of sites to choose from and only 1/3 were filled when I arrived. Great for silence and privacy
Love it here. We have our 20' transvan here easily and hear the rapids. Six sites toal and all occupied--we got last one Friday night. Verizon also works great and put toilets are super clean.
The one lane dirt road that heads here is almost 5 miles long. With the road closed just after the campground, people only come out here on purpose. This means that the other campers are the only ones around. The area ranger station is close to the start of the dirt road. It wouldn’t hurt to check with them if you have a larger rig. The sites aren’t that big.
The small campground nestles sites in close but still gives some privacy on most of them. On this weekend, most of the sites were taken. It’s a nice place for a free campground. The dirt road provides a nice long walk for our dog too.
7 sites with fire rings and tables
Six good sites, all level. Nicely separated. Outhouse well cared for. No water. Fire rings. Pack in pack out. Stream fishing down the hill. Excellent att coverage. No fee.
This is such a cute little camp site. I arrived about 830 local time and there were still open spots. According the website it's fcfs. The camps are well maintained and there are hiking trails and a river just around the bend though the trail is closed right now as of 6.27.21. All in all great little dispersed site
A nice free campsite. Amenities are pit toilet, campfire, and picnic tables. There are trails but currently they’re closed.
This was a beautiful small campground with only 6 campsites arranged around a loop and are spaced well. Access to the campground is off of a gravel road which is somewhat narrow. When I arrived 9/7/20 there was only one other camper so I had my pick of sites which were all relatively level. I stayed in campsite 3 which had a fire ring/grate and picnic table as well as a few paths to the creek that you could hear from the site. Has his and hers pit toilets and didn't see any water. I only stayed one night this time but I plan to stay here again!
I was happy to have service in the woods. We were able to work and talk nice walks while we had free time.
A few bars with Verizon and we can log on. Big plus.
The rapids them selves were small, but I’m sure you could swim if it was a bit warmer.
Dispersed camping here so we did not have to pay.
There are toilets here but now showers.
The fire road is also a nice hike to stretch the legs and paws.
This campground has 6 campsites that can accomodate tents, trailers, and motorhomes. It a limited service campground, first come first served
wonderful stay, quiet, and the river is so close. and if you get bored you can go to kenton to meet some of the locals at Hoppies bar or UP chucks bar.
