This campground is peaceful and has sites that are well spaced. A number of them have proximity to each other but not to the rest of the sites, making for a great multi-family gathering. There are lots of black bears so keeping food in the near lockers or locked in the car at all times is a must!
We just spent six days at site 31 and we really enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms were cleaned two times a day and the park is so well maintained. The sites were a little close and not very private, but if you go during the weekdays, as we did, this won’t be an issue. Weekends the park gets busy as can get a bit loud. The lower sites near the river are good sized and he river ambiance is nice. Biggest negative would be only two showers for the whole campground.
The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. Will be visiting again.
It is beautiful, lots of shade, and you can camp right beside the river!! Don't count on phone service, and no showers. The bathrooms were clean. Every site has a bear box to keep anything edible. Easy to find.
The sites are extremely close when down by the river, but the view is awesome. The road is right across the street but you cannot hear it at all and it is covered by the trees and sound of the rushing water. They provide bear boxes for your things. If you are lucky, you can get the sites at the end of the loop for a little more privacy. There are many other camping options not along the water that allow a little more space per campsite. It was beautiful and great having running water to fall asleep to at night. There are also a lot of hiking trails that start right here!
This campground is just off of Rt2 in the beautiful Berkshires of western Massachusetts. The campground is well kept, and quiet but the sites are very close together. There's plenty to do in the area and plenty of ways to get out and enjoy nature.
