The staff makes this worth the cost, even in the off season

Prizer Point is where I hostess a (Usually) large-ish group of women campers for a looong weekend of festivities. Our weekend themes have been simple (this year I taught Geocaching) to full blown festival (last year was Pirate's in the Cove). The success of the event weekends is largely due to the amazing staff at Prizer, as they accommodate a lot of last minute pleas for changes and help!  The pools were (and usually are not) open when the women and I come to camp on our "week-end" (every September), and the lake was already at winter pool this year, but that makes it quite easy to launch a kayak, or SUP. During this stay we were in the "cove" area where Hurricane creek opens into Lake Barkley, on the original side of the park, where there is only water and electric hook ups. Prizer has a "honey wagon" that comes and pumps your waste water tanks every other day or as needed. (The new lagoon area has full hook up so you don't need the honey wagon.) This side is closer to the larger bath houses, with the community room and swimming pools centrally located. When we were on this side, we hosted  a Pirate's Themed weekend, with over 35 women participating. One of our participants couldn't attend, as she lost her battle with illness just a week before the event, and the staff at Prizer "memorialized" her campsite for us during the weekend.

Wouldn’t stay here again

Was disappointed in this campground. Put us in a site next to cabins and apartments and full time campers. Also things look a little worn.

Bring your own TP

We stopped in for one night and stayed at a “primitive site” who needs power hookups. The closest bathroom is .6 miles at the peer store which closes at 7 PM. The next closest is 1 mile away in biker country if you so choose to go there. My wife and I have no issue going in the woods but there are no woods to go in. For a KOA I would expect more.

Good offseason stay but a little pricey for being the offseason

We came to do a quick weekend with our new camper (we are experienced campers but with a new rig) and we wanted somewhere quiet, with full hookups and with a great view so we could run the rig through the paces and relax.  We did get all of that.  It's the offseason and almost all of the amenities are shut down but the site was very clean and level.  We had a very quiet and relaxing stay on the banks of Lake Barkley.  The cable TV had a pretty good selection of channels.  We had a patio spot and the furniture and firepit were in great shape.  Good cellphone reception but the park WiFi had no internet.  We are not as concerned with the WiFi, but we mentioned it for informational purposes.

My only issue is that the price is very high considering that its offseason and everything is shut down.  I think the price would be very reasonable for in-season and it looks like it would be a lot of fun in the summer, but in late winter...it's just too pricey for us to come back until it warms up and everything in the park opens back up.

Our tip: Totally worth it but only if the amenities are open.

Premier spots a joke

This park charged over $100 a night for “premier waterfront sight “ what a joke you better lots of blocks if if expect to get anything close to level . The couple we were camping with had the window of their camper busted out by park employees mowing the so called grass I have only had bad experiences with koa campgrounds only stayed here to be with friends but never again ! Just went to do laundry this if the filthiest place I have seen dryers won’t dry and the swimming pool I wouldn’t let a dog swim in there maybe they should consider throwing some kind of fish in there to eat all the algae!!

Resort camping at its finest

Prizes Point is pricey, but you are paying for many amenities. There is no way you or the kids can get bored, the campground hosts a weekly campground event (cookout, gathering & games), there is a pool with water feature, life size chess game, corn hole pits, peddle "go carts" for younger children, a restaurant and more. Campground is expanding, but expanded areas are further off site.

No Yogi

Prizer Point KOA and Marina is your basic camp away from home with all those modern conveniences.

Water all around (peninsula) so water sports of course. A swimming pool, playground, bouncy/jumpy thing, pedal car area, dog park, the list goes on.

The Rv style sites were very well situated on the water side loop, realize there is not much privacy. The primitive camp area looked a little frolorn and long in the grass, plus it is a walk to entertainment and the water. There is new construction going on, so reservation maybe easier to get. And there you are , Reserve ahead for prime locations, they are booked through August on the weekends.

Nice area for camping

This was a pretty basic campground, but the staff was friendly and helpful and the access to the lake was great. Nice Cabins and boats for rent and a fully stocked store for all your beach needs! There's a pool if the lake water gets too much for you and I give the bathhouses a 6/10. Campground is on a peninsula, which is nice. I recommend the west side of the sites.
