Would be 5 stars if sites were better graded

Helpful and over-the-top nice office staff. We arrived early and they made room for us. First site was a concrete pad, we were assigned a different site when our original reservation was scheduled, but we went to office to say it was too unlevel for us. They kindly found us a spot that was great.

Arrived during tornado

Late check in was smooth, we lucked out with a sure right across from pool AND CONCRETE, sure B3. We did have to share water with out neighbor, sites are narrow and close to each other. Even on the concrete pad, we had to level side to side

Close to the National Park

This is a small campground right near the entrance of Mammoth Cave NP. It was nice being so close with plenty of hiking options. Bathrooms were clean, laundry was fine. It’s a little dated, but they seem to do their best to keep up with everything. T-mobile 5G internet worked well, and even better with a cell booster. Aside from being so close to the NP, best part of this campground is the staff. They were so friendly and accommodating. I also really appreciated how quiet it was.

Diamond cave rv and gold resort

Nice campground fairly level sites. Bathroom was clean. Laundry was OK. Had a couple washers stop working but were back working in a couple days. The only issue I had was where the office was located. It is across the street before entering the park. The workers at the park were friendly and helpfull

There are better places to stay.

This is an old campground that is only desirable because of its proximity to Mammoth Cave. The Thousand Trails website portrays it as being some oasis on par with their other campgrounds, but it is as far from luxury as it gets.

They claim to follow the same guidelines expected of other Thousand Trails locations, but there are many full timers at this campground with junk in their sites, flying their Trump flags, not picking up after their dogs.

Sites in row B are 30 amp hookups. Some sites has short concrete pads in between gravel while others are just gravel. I would not recommend the concrete pads as most of them are too short for most rigs and will make it challenging to level (and to leave without scraping).

Sites are tight. Be prepared to get friendly with your neighbor when you go outside because you essentially share the minimal amount of space between sites. Water spigots are also shared, which means you’ll have low water pressure if you’re both using water simultaneously. Sewer connections at our site were threaded, but there are no covers for when they’re not in use. The sewer hookups are also tied together underground, so be prepared to enjoy the smell of your black tank when you empty.

The electricity at the campground doesn’t appear to be able to handle the amount of load that most campers will pull in the summer months. The checkin packet recommends not running multiple high wattage appliances simultaneously (even if the total draw would be under the amperage of your site’s breaker).

Long story short, there are nicer places to stay that are just a short drive away. This place is a joke for $70 per night. Save your money and drive a few miles I further down the interstate. You won’t regret it.

Fantastic campground

First the bad news: the sites are not perfectly level. That is it.

Now the good news: Management is a joy to communicate with. Bathrooms & showers are spacious, CLEAN, and they are air conditioned!

There are seasonal campers here for sure, but that wasn't a negative. The campground is quiet and well maintained. Hookups were excellent. The pool was the perfect size for this campground and was never crowded. The dumpster is centrally located and easy to find. On arrival, you get a map and good information. Across the street from Diamond Caverns! Which is more appealing to the eye than Mammoth Cave due to being a wet cave which forms stalactites and stalagmites - which you will see very little of in Mammoth Cave. They have a miniature golf course, but it was so hot in late July we passed.

Clean. Friendly. Affordable. Nice pool. Nice sites. Nice spacing between sites. We loved our stay and decided to stay an extra night. Plenty of open space to walk the dogs! We're not a member, but we would absolutely stay here again! I called the office to get an extra night and they said they didn't have any availability, so I went on the website and booked it;-)

Lots to do

I was expecting a better maintained park. There are several full timers and their sites are a little trashy. The park does have very large grassy area's for families to play. There are many picnic tables and grills scattered around the park. The play ground is huge. There is mini golf, vollyball, and basketball. The restroom near the front of the park was clean, but could use an update. Their are alot of local attractions. Diamond Caverns , Mammoth Cave State Park, etc. I would return to do more in the area.

Diamond Caverns

Nice resort, some full time sites but most sites are well kept. We were at site A7, back in site, 50 amp full hookup fit our 43ft camper and enough room for our truck. Gravel site backs up to trees. Some smaller sites have cement pads but 30 amp full hook up. Great location if you want to head out to the caves.

Nice enough

Many full hookup sites with concrete pads rather than gravel not sure which I prefer. No store which is a downer but very easy to go in most sites are pull through.

Great Access to Mammoth Caves NP

This park is located on the entrance road to Mammoth Caves NP, and it is a spectacular way to stay and enjoy the hiking in the caves!

The park was smaller than many Encore and Thousand Trails parks but offers all of the normal amenities including the pool, playground, clubhouses, putt putt and more. They have sites that are easy to get into, some pull through and some back in. They have full hookup and some partial hookups. There are many seasonal or permanent campers.

Cellular service was ok with TMobile and AT&T. Once you come away from the hills it is much better.

There are many local restaurants within 20 minutes and several other cave systems to see here as well.

Your right there!

Diamond Caverns RV Resort was an enjoyable stay on the edge of Mammoth Cave National Park. Right off of I65 it's a short drive to the campground.

Not much shade but the sites were well maintained. A pool, miniature golf and scheduled activities.
