Quiet and clean

The kids and I stayed here for a weekend (mid March) to try out our new camper. We got a waterfront site and it was gorgeous! Not as big as some places we have been, but large enough. Some of the non-waterfront sites appeared to be MUCH smaller.

The restrooms in our area were spotless and cleaned multiple times per day. My son said the ones near the beach area had a few spider webs, but considering it wasn’t even remotely warm yet, they probably weren’t being maintained as often as the campground ones just yet.

Staff was friendly and helpful, fishing was so-so (from the back of our campsite, anyway, and probably moreso due to our lack of skill than actual fish quantity). They have recently repaved the roads and it was very easy to get around. There are two playgrounds: a larger one by the beach and a smaller one in the campground area (which also has a huge field).

Our spot was level left to right but had a slight slope front to back.

amazing scenery

most campsites have views of the lake and access directly to the stoney beaches. Lots of mature trees make shade an easily accessible feature. Water, power and cable at the sites with grey water dumps very numerous.

Weekend Getaway

This campground is very nice for a weekend getaway. The shower facilities are very clean!! The lots are pretty good size and they have a lot of options. This is a non-specific campsite campground so you can’t choose your site. some of the roads leading to the site are rough because of roots pushing through the paving.

Great lake camping

Its very clean, and handicap accessible. Lots of bathrooms with showers. They are close by no matter where you camp. We camp here all year round. Most camping spots are well shaded. Easy to bring a boat, kayak and SUP. We really enjoy this campground.

Girls’ Trip

Took my daughters and a friend of theirs to Tugaloo. The friend had never been camping. We had a nice trip even though we were not very prepared for the cool temperatures. The girls went swimming and mini golfing.

Pioneer Site for Group of 65

Camp here with a Summer Camp group of 65+ to the pioneer site. Easy to reserve online, the site has one large covered pavilion next to a water pipe and fire ring. We used this area to cook. Down the hill from the site is the water front property with plenty of clay beach to swim. The site has 3 clean squirrel's nest shelters and at least 8 flat tent pads. Great size for large groups and plenty to do (insider's tip: there is a bathroom 5 min drive down the road at the ranger station open 24 hrs :p )
