Key Largo Kampground & Marina

Nice campground all the way around, great staff, nice clean restrooms and showers, beautiful beach within the campground itself, nice pool, secure and if I left anything out I didn't mean to. Loved this campground all the way around! They let me bring my portable hot tub if I paid for the water and they didn't charge us enough in my opinion! We were able to rent kayaks from local rental for 24 hrs. and they delivered and picked up at the campground!! Close to everything!

Loved It Completely!

Very clean pool and campgrounds. The staff was very friendly. Small beach access. I had a nice quiet tent site in a shady mangrove cutout. Very cozy.I would definitely recommend this campsite and will come back. 

Diamond in the Rough

We made a quick trip up to Key Largo and chose this spot as it seemed like the only option for tent camping in the area. The two private beaches they advertise were something we were looking forward to! 

This is definitely not a place to camp if you’re looking for space and peace and quiet. All of the sites are very close together. Plus you’re mixed in between trailers, RVs, and residents. It really gave off the feel of staying in a crowded trailer park. 

We made the mistake of picking out a site close to the main office as we thought being close to the bathrooms would be nice (#26). Cars were driving in and out and late arrivals headlights would blind us throughout the night. We were also the campsite right by the main watering hole and walkway so there were constantly people walking around our campsite. 

The beaches at this campsite are not what you would think for the keys nor would I consider them a beach, maybe more like a launch site or previous boat launch. The water looks more like a swamp. Not to mention they have pipes leading into the water that were making the water bubble up. Not something you’d want to swim in. For kayakers this won’t be an issue. Plus the signs about crocodiles being present didn’t make us want to hang out for very long. 

Pros:
-There’s a shopping center within walking distance that has everything you could need.
-The bathrooms were kept clean and smelled clean as well. 
- The pool looked like a nice spot to lay out. We only passed by it for a moment and didn’t get in. 
-The grounds are secure and it was easy to check in and out. 
- Campsite came with with a grill, picnic table, and trees for shade

Cons:
-No fires allowed. There were a couple of residents with fire pits lit up at night so I’m not sure what this rule is about. Probably cause the sites are so close together and there are trees?
-Sites are too close together
-No privacy
- Beaches aren’t really beaches, more like old boat ramps with nice sand and gross water. 
- Felt like staying at a trailer park. 
- Campsites are really small. We didn’t have anyone next to us so we expanded out a little past ours. During a busy season, it would be annoying being so close. 

All in all $70 for one night here was not worth it in my opinion for a tent site without electricity but if you’re just passing through or don’t mind being close to other people this might work for you. We just enjoy the more primitive sites. 

Not what we expected

Not so much camping as much as a place you can pay to pitch a tent for a night if you need to in a pinch. Basically staying in an RV park near the water.

A last minute tent option

Tent sites are primative ( no water or power) but you have everything you need close by...even a 25/7 ice machine! Great pool, views are amazing. Lots of campers brought their boats  here. Site was sandy but larger than expected. Great jumping off point for diving, kayaking or swimming with dolphins ( which is what we did).

Perfect location for adventure

Great location closes to Miami, clean sites, amenities are great , the pool was clean.  Our tent site T31 was facing the Marina and it was great.  Electric and water included.  Boat ramps for rent, kayak and fishing 


Tent and family

This cost $85 a night and really old picnic tables, right next to your neighbors, old showers, wasn’t given the wifi password, but smack dab in Key Largo. The RV sites are awesome, but that’s not me, lol. I got a site as a walk-in same night. Also everything is relative, if you’ve been using vault toilets it’s amazing to have a flush toilet, but these are a bit rough for $85. 

Tent sites, eh, for the money. 

So first ...the lits are privately owned. There is an HOA. Owner of site has authority over site not the staff. So if the staff makes an error with dates of your visit and the owners show up to stay at their site....you will need to pack up. Happened to us. The area is mostly fulltime/permanent traders that have been converted into a trailer house. Laundry room is not air conditioned. The "store/gift shop" is more of a check in and mail/package pick up. Dog friendly but not alot of grassy areas for dogs to play and do there business. 90% of area is like sand seashell material. There is a very small beach area...no dogs allowed. Kids playground is nice. Pool was opened...I did not go into pool area. We took our 2 digs down to  Marathon FL to a dog park. Very nice and quiet with nice walking trail. I would not recommend this camp site.

Not what I expected

I stayed in the deluxe tent spot which is surrounded on three sides by the mangrove forest. Shaded spot with electrical outlet, stays cool in the morning.
Like other RV parks space is tight, but this spot (T22) feels spacious. Other tent sites appear smaller but there are many. Short walk to beach, pool, bathhouse. Ice, water, laundry on site. The staff and people are friendly. Good location easy access to keys or Miami area.

Old school Florida feel

There is something about arriving in the Keys that instantly slows your pace and flip flops you into a world of immediate calm and Key Largo Kampground captures that feeling the moment you pull in, with a 40-acre waterfront setting along the Atlantic, replete with a mix of varying quality RV sites, along with a relaxed, lived-in layout that feels more like a coastal neighborhood than a traditional campground, with mostly level sites tucked among palms and just enough shade to take the edge off the Florida sun. The amenities lean into that island lifestyle with a marina, pool, small beaches, playground, and plenty of space for fishing, kayaking, and exploring and while some sites are a bit tight, the campground is known for being clean, very organized, friendly, and well-equipped for families and especially for the geared for the 'blue bird special' crowd, all just minutes from shops, restaurants, and the famous reef attractions nearby. One afternoon, we grabbed a casual dinner nearby at Snook's Bayside Restaurant &amp; Grand Tiki Bar and came back to let the boys run around near the water's edge while my hubby and I watched boats drift in as the sun dipped low ... one of those simple, golden moments that somehow defined the whole trip. I would absolutely recommend this campground for families thanks to its waterfront setting, abundance of activities, and unbeatable location at the gateway to the Keys.

Laid-Back Keys Living Right on the Water

We booked a small travel trailer air bnb here for the week. We had a private dock on the canal. If we had kayaks or a boat you have direct access to the state park nearby and the Atlantic from either your dock or the marina. Bath house were clean. Quiet at night. The campground is a mix of full time residents, snowbirds, renters in campers, RVs and a few tents. There is a heated pool, laundry, lots of games and two small sandy beaches. Easy stay while exploring the keys.
