large park grounds, surrounded by nature, small camping plot

our 8 man tent was hanging off of the camping plot in some places, so measure your tent before you go! good showers available, and lots of walking trails. close to the Garden of the Gods, and just at the edge of town, so lots of accessibility to food, shopping and other attractions. we were right in with nature--we heard wolves howling every night. the bathrooms were very close by which was great. the site for choosing your camping spot was easy, and checking in was really easy when we got there.

Cheyenne Mtn State Park

Clean, spacious, quiet. Great sunrise. ❤️hearing TAPS from Fort Carson. Lots of trail options. Dogs ok in park, limited on trails!! Wonderful group space. Close to 🌃 is a convenience. Best is you are smack up onto foothills of Cheyenne Mountain ⛰.

Awesome Walk-In Sites and Mountain Biking

The walk in sites are located partway up the mountain and had awesome views. The walk to the campsite was about 50 meters and was made of smooth fine gravel. Each site had a water pump, tent pad, picnic table and metal fire ring with a half-grill. The walk-in sites were also really close to a bathroom - all facilities were very clean and nice.

The mountain biking and hiking trails at Cheyenne were already really fun and good for all experience levels. There are a variety of trails and most are maintained, but some have rock jumps and fallen trees.
