The Housekeeping Camp in Yosemite sits on the floor of the Yosemite Valley.  Located on Southside Drive, this campground offers tent sites and glamping tents.  Picnic tables, fire pits, and an extensive camp store.

Housekeeping Camp — Yosemite National Park

Yosemite's Housekeeping Camp is exactly as described. It's in a great location right in the Valley. It's an easy walk to the main visitors center and both the Valley Village and Half Dome Village. There are A LOT of shelters in the Housekeeping Camp area and it might feel a little crowded. When you register you can preference a riverside site for no extra cost which is certainly worth it. The structures are built so there are two sites per building, you can hear your neighbors. The fences around each site are angled to maximize privacy. Each site is equipped with a table, lights and outlets, beds and a fire pit. Showers and laundry are available. It felt a lot like I was at summer camp.

I wish the river had been higher when we were there, it was a little low for swimming. It's certainly worth it to take the shuttles around the valley rather than sitting in traffic. Even in late September all of the sites were booked and the parking lots filled up.

Recommendation: take the drive up to Glacier Point, the view is incredible!

Great Location, Interesting Accommodations

Great location right in the valley. Amenities were nice (showers, laundry, food). The three-sided cinder block enclosure was a bit rustic and dirty. Would have felt cleaner actually camping in a tent where you can control what comes in and out of your personal space. Hiked several days in the park and took in sunset from Glacier Point (while doing the 4 mile hike earlier in the day from the valley floor up to the point). Beautiful!

Housekeeping Camp - Yosemite, NP

This was definitely a different kind of camping. The little shelter things neat. We didn't hang out much there because there's so much cool stuff to get to. Waterfall was in view of our campsite and it was amazing. Good place for driving, hiking, and even biking. Super family friendly. We loved it all.

this is the ultimate glamping. Bunk beds, electrical outlets, private patio with awning and round picnic table, even curtains for your shared sleeping quarters. Near by clean restrooms running hot water. Id recommend wearing sandals for showering. Nice open space between campsites. We had the campsites reserved months in advance next to the river. It was pretty dry the this time. Enough water to capture some great photos. In the campgrounds there were large bear lockers, and well distributed benches and fire rings. Quiet time is 10pm and they are strict about it. Cant reallly complain about yosemite though. Its just pure beauty.

You're staying in Yosemite Valley, one of the most beautiful places in the world. We stayed a couple nights in the tents, and it was fine. They're close together, but it's nice to have a "room" instead of just a tent. The bathrooms and showers were nearby too. Be sure to enjoy the countless miles of trails and epic views.
