We liked this extremely clean and well maintained Park.

We stayed here for 12 days while visiting relatives in the Bay area. This campground, while in the heart of Fremont, feels remote and safe in spite of being close to town. Sites are not huge, but arranged in such a way as to feel private. It is in the Coyote hills regional Park. There are many many trails for hiking and biking, and wildlife is plentiful. Our RV is small and we used the showers and bathrooms quite a bit. They are cleaned daily and we're always in great shape. The laundry is run by an outside organization, and the change machine was always empty, but everything worked well.

Great for first time campers

The staff was amazing. Tent site was spacious. Not too crowded. Clean bathroom and shower. Several trails to walk. Close to town in case we forgot something.

Bay Area getaway

We live nearby, and we come to this campground to check out our RV systems or sometimes just so we can enjoy our RV. It's easy to back in our trailer, the sites are not as close together as you sometimes find in commercial parks.

There's a great playground if you have small kids, and lots of gentle hiking trails. If you hate wind, you should know it can get windy here. If you want rural isolation you'll want to know a major highway can be seen from the park. But it's generally pretty quiet and low key.

Quite exposed but lots of facilities

We stayed on a windy rainy day and the site is quite exposed. Each pitch has a bench and fire pit, plus water, electricity and sewer hook ups. WiFi too, not super strong but it worked! There were a couple of toilet blocks which were pretty chilly but clean. More hooks needed in the shower room though and watch out for the deep clean on a Wednesday morning where everything gets wet! (Why do it at the time folk would want to use them?!?) Wood and charcoal was available to purchase for $11 a bag. There was a vending machine for snacks but it was out of order. Washers and dryers available but I didn't try these. I think a wash was $3.50. Our pitch cost us $65. It's a useful stop if needing to return your RV to Cruise America in Newark.

Solid

Nice facilities, clean, close to the bay. Not much of a view.

Nice place

It’s a nice place, close to sf. It is quite pricy though. No shade at all. Nice host!

Great camping spot in San Francisco Bay area

The park is so new that the laundry facility is not up and running yet. Bathrooms were spotless and backing into our site was a breeze. Best part about the campground is access to miles of trails by the side of the bay.

Nice new campground

We've camped here twice and it's been nice with a couple of exceptions. Since it's a new campground, the trees are young and don't supply much shade, but since it's close to the SF Bay, the bay breeze helps. It is right off 84 near the Dumbarton bridge so there can be a lot of traffic noise. There are some nice trails that will take you to the Bay and also to Coyote Hills Regional Park. It's also near Ardenwood Farm so if you have little kids it's a good spot to visit.
They have RV and tent sites and it looks like they will have a little store and laundry facilities in the future. There are lots of shopping and restaurant options very nearby if needed.

We had an issue with a camper that was next to us playing very loud music and when we asked them to turn it down they refused so we asked at the office if there was a space available somewhere else and they accommodated us without question.

We appreciate how convenient it is for people who live in the Bay Area and if you want to visit the area from out of state or out of the Bay Area, it would be a great place to park your camper and explore.

Beautiful, clean, easily-accessed new Southeast Bay campground

This campground opened in August 2021, so the facilities are still brand-spanking new. They haven't yet installed the washer/dryer and haven't yet locked in a vendor to operate the camp store, but I'm told those things are coming.

What they do have are scores of hookup sites for $60 / night and three tent / drive-in no hookup water-only sites for $45 / night. The sites are close together and things are relatively packed in, but it doesn't feel overwhelming since there's plenty of open space and people are pretty friendly here.

The best parts about this campground in my opinion are:

  • close to town
  • excellent cellular reception on all carriers
  • warm / hot and clean showers + other facilities
  • nice sound of train off in the distance at night
  • sunrise views
  • stunning walks in the coyote hills and bird-watching in the estuary to the north

Gate closes at 10PM, but you can exit the park over the tiger teeth at any time if you need to. Highly, highly recommend giving this park a stay if you're passing through the Bay. Even if it's a little pricier, you're so close to town you can take care of some errands and not have to drive all the way to the other campgrounds to settle in for the night.
