Great spot tucked away by the lake.

Wish we had known about this sooner, nice free camping area right before going into Canada. Beautiful views of the lake and a nice wilderness trail. Sites range in size and terrain so shop around before settling down. Noticed some primitive sites on the way out we didn't see when we came in.

A dream spot for birding

I came here early May and there was only 1 other camper. No services in the area

Right on the water, you fall asleep to the sound of birds on the water.

Very clean camp ground, no host, clean bathrooms.

Lovely interpretive walking route on a wooden board walk.

Truly amazing

Stayed here September 1st before transiting through Canada. had the entire campground to ourselves basically. Stunning lake views with a beautiful sunset and the Canadian Rockies in the distance. Free camp with toilets but also suggest leaving a donation! So well maintained would 100% stay here again if I was doing to ALCAN highway.

Breathtaking

Stopped here on the way from Ohio to Fairbanks, glad we did. One of the best spots we camped. Campgrounds were immaculate. Skies were clear and crisp(first week of October). We were the only campers there. Free camping but we left donations.

First and last stop on this side of the border

Loved this campground. Open late into the season and only about an hour drive from the border in a big RV. Does have a pull through but the ground was uneven so we had to back into a spot to put our jacks down to open the slides.

Restrooms were clean and well stocked and have bear proof garbage bin.

This was our last stop on a trip up the ALCAN before we drove through to home in Anchorage.

Campground is small but well worth it and the view is amazing. I wish we had a kayak or canoe to explore more.

Exceptional campground just off the Alaska Highway

This is a small, quiet campground just off the Alaska Highway between Tok and the border, sitting on the edge of a lake in the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge. Most of the campsites are directly on the lake, but the ones away from the lake are large and relatively isolated, giving you the feeling of camping alone. It's also worth noting that mosquitoes can be fierce in this part of Alaska and it's less bad away from the water, although it's such a lovely lake that you might prefer to tolerate them in exchange for the view.

There's a small boat launch, a viewing platform, and a nature walk on an elevated boardwalk (which also makes it ADA accessible). The waterfowl viewing is excellent. I've stayed a number of times, spring through fall, and it's always a treat.
