Welcome to SacWest RV Park & Campground, a convenient spot just outside Sacramento. This place is perfect if you're looking for easy access to the city without the constant hum of freeway noise. It's got everything you need for a comfortable stay, whether you're here for a quick stopover or a longer visit.

The campground offers full hookups, clean showers, and bathrooms that are consistently praised by visitors. There's a great dog park where your furry friends can run off-leash, and even a dog wash station with a leash clip—something you don't see every day. If you're traveling with kids, they'll love the petting zoo and the pool.

One of the standout features here is the friendly and helpful staff. They go out of their way to make sure you have all the information you need, even if you arrive late. Plus, the sites are pull-through and fairly level, making it easy to set up camp.

For those who need to stay connected, the Wi-Fi can be hit or miss, especially in communal areas. But if you're lucky, some RV spots have better reception. And if you're into dining out or need to stock up on supplies, there are plenty of restaurants, fuel stations, and grocery stores nearby.

So, whether you're escaping a wildfire, like some recent visitors, or just passing through, SacWest RV Park & Campground has got you covered. Enjoy your stay and don't forget to check out the local eateries and maybe even Mavericks, a favorite gas station among campers.

Campsite reservations are made only during the on-season. In the off-season campsite availability is first-come, first-served.

This secluded campground is located near the end of the peninsula between the north and south forks of the American River. You can reach the area by boat or you can drive in ten miles from the little town of Pilot Hill on Highway 49. The campground has 85 family campsites that will accommodate trailers up to 18 feet in length and motor homes up to 24 feet. Hookups are not provided at the individual campsites, but there is a sanitation dump station. Flush toilets and piped drinking water are available. There are two launch ramps and a day-use area near the park. Please be aware that both the boat launch ramps become unusable when the lake drops below 431 feet in elevation. This typically happens in late June to early July, but can vary annually. To check the current lake elevation you may visit the Department of Water Resources website. You can also camp ashore with your boat at Peninsula campground in a designated campsite. A secure tie-up is essential as the wind often rises during the night.
