Gebo Road - Thermopolis

Shell Campground is a private, boutique-sized property locate 5 miles from Bighorn National Forest. We are located on US Highway 14, the "Bighorn Scenic Byway", a main route from Mt Rushmore/Devils Towers to Yellowstone National Park. We offer 11 RV sites with full hook-ups, 2 electric-only sites, fully furnished cabins with private bathrooms and included linens, 4 glamping tents and 7 cabins.



Shell Campground

60 total sites, with 10 of those sites along the banks of the North Fork of the Little Laramie River. This is a large, RV-friendly campground. The sound of the North Fork of the Little Laramie River can be heard throughout most of the campground. The campground is composed of two sections. Picnic tables, toilets and limited drinking water are provided. Fishing is available in the North Fork Little Laramie River. Hiking is accessible at the North Fork Trail # 390.  It is located in the Snowy Range and is managed by the Laramie Ranger District.

Potable water is typically available in this campground (at least 1 hand pump) from July to September. These dates may vary due to weather, well and/or pump maintenance, and water testing requirements. As such, we encourage you to bring your own potable water, or call ahead, 307-745-2300.

North Fork Campground 

Sitting Bull Campground is located 51 miles east of Worland, Wyoming on the west side of scenic Cloud Peak Skyway, near the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area. The Bighorn National Forest offers a wide variety of activities, including hiking, fishing, scenic driving and a number of historic sites. Natural Features: Sitting Bull is situated on the edge of a forest of lodgepole pine, adjacent to a beautiful mountain meadow, a prime location for wildlife viewing. Most sites afford expansive views of the surrounding Bighorn Mountains. Recreation: Nearby Meadowlark Lake covers 325 acres and is open to boating at a wake-less speed, making it a perfect location for canoeing and fishing. Anglers will find rainbow, cutthroat, brown and brook trout in the cool waters of the lake. Off-road vehicle trails, scenic jeep roads, hiking and additional fishing streams are available in the surrounding area. Diverse hikes vary from loop trails to treks along creeks and over mountain peaks; many trails access the Cloud Peak Wilderness. Facilities: The campground offers several single-family sites each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Site 006 meets established accessibility standards. Accessible vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are also provided. Nearby Attractions: The High Park Lookout is located just east of Meadowlark Lake. This old fire lookout was built by the CCC decades ago and is no longer active. A short hike leads to the lookout, where hikers are awarded panoramic views of the surrounding area. West Tensleep Lake is about 10 miles north of the campground and is open to non-motorized craft only. The popular West Tensleep Lake Trail begins here and leads into the Cloud Peak Wilderness. Deer Haven Lodge and Meadowlark Lodge are nearby, offering dining options, lodging, guided horseback riding and fishing and camping supplies. ACTIVITIES Biking Fishing Hiking Wildlife Viewing

Sitting Bull Campground

Lakeview Campground is located on Meadowlark Lake about 50 miles east of Worland, Wyoming on the west side of scenic Cloud Peak Skyway, near the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area. The Bighorn National Forest offers a wide variety of activities, including hiking, fishing, scenic driving and a number of historic sites. Natural Features: The campground overlooks scenic Meadowlark Lake, which can be viewed from several sites. A forest of lodgepole pine and Douglas fir trees covers the campground. Many additional lakes and streams are found in the surrounding area. Recreation: Meadowlark Lake covers 325 acres and is open to boating at a wake-less speed, making it a perfect location for canoeing and fishing. Anglers will find rainbow, cutthroat, brown and brook trout in the cool waters of the lake. Come Camp with us!  We offer dry camping at Ten Sleep Brewing Company!  We have 12 sites in total!  All 12 sites are bookable on HIP CAMP!  We have incredible Vistas!   We can accommodate tent camping, van or car camping and smaller bumper pulls up to 22 feet! 

All bookings are made through HIP CAMP.  When you arrive at the brewery, please check in with our friendly staff and they will guide you on where to camp and give you a camping ticket to place on your dashboard! 

We provide porta-potties in the camping area and a picnic table and a shade sail in each space!   

We do have shower facilities at the barn!  Showers are and additional $3 per person per shower! 

There’s free wi-fi at the brewery taproom and an indoor and outdoor small device (phone-laptop)  charging station! 

All dogs must be kept on a leash while you enjoy staying with us.

- Check out is 12pm
- Dogs are allowed on a leash and attended to 
- Up to four people per site and one vehicle per site
- Camping is non refundable unless reservations were made on HIP CAMP then camping is refundable through HIP CAMP with a weeks notice
- Campers will be required to buy tickets for events to book on ticketed event nights  (JULY 17th and SEPTEMBER 2,3,4,5).
- Showers are $3 and not included with the registration of a campsite

Although abundant, camping in Wyoming is extremely sought after, especially near the park. Twelve campgrounds within Yellowstone National Park provide adventurers with plentiful options, but planning ahead is vital. The Canyon Campground allows easy access to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, a picture-perfect waterfall and river vista in the north-central region. Visit Artist’s Point and hike the 300 feet down to the lower falls to feel the rush of the Yellowstone River. 


For a more touristy experience, snag a site in the Madison Campground. Being one of the largest in the park and less than 20 miles from the famous geyser Old Faithful, this area is a go-to for first time visitors. Sitting at an elevation just below 7,000 feet, the crisp mountain air will refresh. This area gets a lot of traffic, so pack in your patience and remember that the parks are for everyone to enjoy. 


Camping in Wyoming also gives the chance to get off the grid. Grand Teton National Park is directly to the south of Yellowstone and allows for some easy-access backpacking. When done right, you can avoid the droves of humanity that flock to the Greater Yellowstone region. 


For an easy trek into the backcountry, get a scenic spot along Leigh Lake or String Lake. These camping sites are often booked months in advance, so get them quick! A hidden gem tucked in the shadow of Mount Moran is Bearpaw Lake and is also relatively accessible from the same trail. Remember your bear spray and enjoy some genuine Wyoming camping!
