Madison Vines RV Resort & Cottages
About
Madison Vines RV Resort & Cottages (the “Property”) is now open after a complete renovation. This will be the tenth totally renovated, sparkling RV resort managed by RV Management Services (“RVMS”) whose other properties are very highly rated by the Good Sam Campground Guide (five properties at a PERFECT 10 / 10* / 10, with the remaining RV resorts all rated in the 9s and 10s).
Located about 25 miles northeast of Charlottesville (the University of Virginia) and about 80 miles southwest of Washington, DC (monuments galore), this hospitable property is nestled in the famous fox hunting region of the Shenandoah Valley with its gentle wooded hills and miles of nearby hiking trails is surrounded by more than 30 wineries and 20 breweries. With Luray Caverns, Montpelier, Monticello, and Skyline Drive nearby, the location is dramatic and full of treasure.
Our new resort-style Pool has a “whale station” on one side and a “bubbler pad” for kids on the other side while our new 16-foot Spa is kept at about 102 degrees during the summer months with 12 intense jets of water massaging.

Newly renovated, great staff, many amenities, some sites are noisy
Stayed here for two weeks in early March. Newly renovated campground with a lot of amenities. Very helpful staff. The campground is a lot of money upgrading services, capabilities, and extra activities (St Patrick's Day parade and dinner). While we were there they added street signage (very helpful) and installed a Bocce Ball field. Two fenced dog parks. Campsites are level gravel (no pads). Located near multiple vineyards. Our only complaint was that the sewage connection was slightly higher than the black tank outlet on our Airstream. The majority of camp sites are very close together, and the sites closer to the highway experience highway noise.
Great staff - great programs
We stayed here for a few months. The staff were accommodating to all guests and solved every issue we observed. The facility is very well kept and has all the amenities you need. Great weekend programs gave everyone a chance to mingle if they wanted to. Space was maximized but that added to the community feeling most quickly embraced!
A little crowded/commercial
The only reason that I’m giving this place only three stars is because it’s not really the type of place I like to go to. It was a mostly RV campground with not a whole lot of spaces in between sites so pretty crowded. I actually ended up staying in one of their cabins, which wasn’t too expensive, around $60. That was pretty decent and clean enough.
There’s also a pond for fishing, a pool, and playground which is nice for keeping everyone busy. Really a nice place overall just not my scene.
We stayed here mostly for its proximity to the Old Rag and White Oak Canyon hikes. About 30 minutes away.We wanted to do old rag one day and white oak the next over a weekend. This was super fun an I definitely recommend both trails. They’re both right around 8 miles unless you get lost on white oak and go 12 miles like we did lol. The AT runs through there so make sure you’re on the right path.
