Excellent lakeside site Quiet, peaceful
Ok. A bit close to your neighbor. Lovely shady tree’d sites. Cell data coverage a bit spotty. Download just enough for streaming on T-Mobile 5G hotspot. Verizon was sometimes as high as 2.5 mbs up & down. Cricket limped
Easy access for kayak (& motor boats). Friendly staff/hosts, firewood available for reasonable prices.
Drive-in a little steep with hairpin bend, but all good with caution

Beautiful campground
As for the overall campground, 10/10! Bathrooms are clean and what you’d expect a campground bathroom to be. Waterfront beach available, hiking trails, two piers and a theater spot with a gorgeous view. We did show up right after a huge storm, and because the electric was out the bathrooms were inaccessible. They quickly got port-a-potties until the issue was resolved. I will say if you are a tent camper like us, site 35 is the best site to avoid noisy neighbors, and is right by the bathrooms. The c loop is gorgeous but the sites are very close together for tent campers and you can very much hear everyone else. Site 1 looks amazing for tent camping also, although the bottom loop books up far in advance.
Really nice campground
We stayed here for a week in November. They have water and electric, but no sewer. There is a dump station on the way out. We were not on the lake, but could see the lake from our site. The campground was busy while we were there, but was quiet at night. The road in is a little narrow and windy but wasn't too bad. Sites are spacious.
The COE did camping right
Love this campground. Located on the shore of Philpott Resevoir in Bassett, VA. The campground is broken up into three separate loops: a, b and c. Loop a has 19 sites with water and electric hookup. This loop is a little distance from the lake. It has a restroom but no shower house. There is a shower house located closer to loop b. Loop b has 10 non-electric sites. Loop c is located on a peninsula and offers 34 sites, many of which are lake front sites. There is a nice swimming area, boat ramp and dock in the loop. There is also a second shower house located here. Facilities are very nice and kept clean. The sites in this campground are laid out very well.

A little slice of paradise.
My husband has been coming to Goose Point multiple times a year, for 33 years (since he was just a few weeks old). He introduced me to it when we were dating about 16 years ago, and I’ve been hooked since. The lake is amazing, but this park in particular is unlike any other I’ve ever been too. The people are super friendly, there are tons of trees and shade, the bathhouses stay consistently clean, the playground is great, the swimming area is nice. There are hiking trails, horseshoe pits, an amphitheater where they show movies, tons of places to fish, woods to explore, islands and coves to explore on boats, kayaks, or canoes. The memories that our family makes here every year are beyond worth the 8+ hours we now have to drive to get here.

Goose Point = great camping experience
The park rangers and attendants were very friendly, nightly sheriff patrols. If you want some peace and quiet, this is it. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained, they even had decent TP! Firewood was seasoned and reasonably priced. We were at site 35 which was convenient to the bathrooms and was away from the other campsites in the loop. Clean park, friendly staff, generously sized campsites. Can't wait to go back.
Beautiful, friendly, clean campground!
We were curious about this site - being 5 miles off the road - so we took the ride to inquire for more information and wow were we in for a surprise! This campground was beautiful! The ranger explained to us that they have 3 loops, C (for RV's) B (for tent campers only) and A (prime lake front sites). She said in order for us to get a lake front site, we needed to make reservations 6 months in advance.
We were feeling lucky - so we asked her for a pass to ride through and see what was available. She gave us a 15 minute pass and we rode through - and WOW did we see prime camping! First of all, this lake is BEAUTIFUL! The color reminds me of Canadian glacier water in areas and you can see the bottom everywhere! Secondly, the beach was clean, maintained and offered life jackets for kids who needed them. Thirdly, the sites were well layed out, flat, and gorgeous! We quickly figured out that if there was a reserved tag on the post, it was reserved - we needed to find an OPEN tag! Which we did! In fact, we found 3 of them - which made it hard to decide. We liked the site on the inside of the loop so kids could play at the playground without crossing the street. Yet, being so close to this lake, we wanted to be able to sit (or swing) and enjoy the beauty and peace.
The bathhouse was immaculate - in fact, it had just been cleaned when we walked in for the first time! Stalls, running water and shower stalls with private changing areas. This campground lacks for nothing. We will surely be back!

Wonderful ArmyCOE Campground
One of my all time favorite campgrounds. Stunning water front sites if you're lucky enough to be able to book one. Stayed on top of hill one year, moved to waterfront after they had a couple of cancellations/no-shows. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) and not far from Martinsville Va.

Let it rain
This campground has three loops. The lower loop is the most popular because it is down by the water and each of the sites have great views of the lake. Reservations have to be made well in advance for the lower loop sites. Lots of rain was in the forecast so several people cancelled their reservations allowing us to get one of the best spots on the lower loop. All the activity at this campground is around the lower loop. The sites in the lower loop are close to each other but the views make up for that.

Boat
Cool place to stay and test out your boating skills
Great peninsula camping
Great little park with lake views, sandy swimming beach, hiking, boating, and state parks and forests nearby for even more recreation options. The campground is among the trees for great shade and so-so privacy. Some spots are lakeside (numbers 1 through 19), but all are very close to the water. There isn’t a shower in each loop, which can cause some congestion in the morning so plan ahead if possible. They have an amphitheater with ranger events throughout summer. Nice for day use also.
Goose Point Loop "C" campground
Beautiful views with great boat and kayak access on a huge reservoir with lakeside camping sites make this a preferred camping destination. There is a clean sandy beach for swimming, and a boat launch with a pier. RVs need to reserve loop "C" as A and B loop are not easily accessible and are more suited for tent campers. Buy firewood at the host site near the gate on your way in before occupying your campsite, and bring enough food. No nearby restaurants or stores.
