Harrisburg East Campground

Overall this was a decent campground. The staff were really nice and helpful, more so than other campgrounds I've stayed at. There were a lot of seasonal or long-term campers here, but all the sites were well kept. They had a large grass area for dogs, although unfenced. The highway bordered it on one side and while we were on the other side of the campground we could still hear the noise if our door was open. Our site was level, but many were not. The price was the highest we've paid on the east coast so far. Unfortunately, there aren't many options in this area. The wifi wasn't usable and AT&T was just okay. Verizon worked well. The laundry facilities were adequate, but there was a frequent wait to do wash.

The staff was very friendly. The campground was right off the interstate which was convenient but it was very expensive. No activities for kids. Nice pool and restrooms. I noticed a lot of campers were only there for a day and from out of state so it’s just a stop while passing through. Nice pull through spots with a lot of shade. The sites that were close to the interstate were noisy from traffic. Also it was close to Harrisburg International Airport so planes also made it noisy at times.
