Dispersed Camping - Summit Meadows
We loved staying the night here! We had the privacy we needed and still had the comfort of knowing we were by other campers. Ample amount of room as we arrived around 9pm or so. We saw so many stars too :)
Dispersed Camping
Good dispersed camping if just needing a place to camp for a night. We pulled in around 1030 pm on a Saturday night and was able to find a place. Area has spots for individual camps and a wide open area for campervans, etc.

Great RV Boondocking Site
This is a great RV Boondocking site. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon. There are plenty of sites on both sides of the road. On the right side of the road there were about 7 trailers camping in one area. Still lots of room. On the left side of the road is a very large open area. In this area there were approximately a total of 6 trailers and motorhomes. There were plenty of areas available. Mostly all were very easy to level your trailer at.

Secluded area
Everyone is very spaced out and plenty of spots with partial shade
Great for weekdays not so much for weekends
Originally i wasnt planning on staying here since i excepted it to be full by the time i got here(7pm) i was going find a spot on NF 2656 however i was still able to find a very secluded spot at the end of the airstrip. It was quiet and plenty of room for tents.
Mt. close but tight quarters
Small street with a bunch of spots close together, beautiful fauna, close to mountain is so good
Very nice site
Loved the site. We stayed a week. Other than the disrespectful drivers, flying through the camping areas, throwing dust everywhere. And the van dwellers, who think that rules don't apply to them, leaving their garbage all over the place. And I say van dwellers, because we have cleaned up five sites, that vans were in. I know the sites were clean before they got there, because We Cleaned Them! CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES! PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT!
Convenient and cleaner than usual
I've camped at Summit Meadows Airstrip before and came across a lot of trash and sites in gross condition. This is a bit of a free-for-all dispersed campground, but it provides great access to Mt. Hood and Trillium Lake. There are sites of every size and the airstrip is usually occupied by at least a few people. Lots of nice trees for hammocking too.
During this most recent stay, it wasn't too busy so we had plenty of sites to choose from. It also seemed to be cleaner than last time... maybe because it's the beginning of the summer season? Everyone was friendly and respectful and we got a great sunset view of Mt. Hood by walking just down the road. Great view of the stars at night too!
Overall this isn't the most hygienic site, but it's well established and free so I've stayed here several times and will probably continue to do so in the future.
