A large, flat dirt lot used as a snowmobile staging area in winter, Adams Trail Dirt Lot sits within Shingleton State Forest and draws the occasional camper looking for an overnight stop near Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Backcountry Sites. No signage addresses overnight parking. The lot is spacious enough for rigs up to 26 feet with room for easy turnaround. Verizon and AT&T users should expect zero cell reception. ATVs have been reported moving through the area at night, so light sleepers should plan accordingly. This spot makes sense for self-contained rigs that don't need hookups or facilities.
