Koa
I was able to stay in a pull through with a really good rate being that it was the off season just call and ask for Karen.. Really GOOD ppl BTW they are very religious so be respectful
Just passing through
We’re just passing through so only staying one night but the place is cute and we’ll maintained as far as I can tell. We did come in around 8:30pm and it was a little difficult to see site markers but the hosts left us an envelope with a map along with their notes and drawings to get to the site so it was fine.
Tale of 1 campground 2 different views
OK we are here for 2 days. After the first night this mat have gotten a 2 if I was in a Generous mood. This side traffic noise, a little run down. Out campsite was not even a hundred yards off I57, thought all night one of those trucks would come into the campsite if they went off the road.
We did find a great Mexican restaurant just down the road with great food, cheap and good Marguerites and that was the saving grace.
There us another portion of this campground across the road you come in on. This morning thought as u was taking photos and videos I would walk over. I do have to say it is a totally different area. Quiet newer, some money spent on that side. A pond nice sites even pull through and tent sites. My thought was how much more do I have to pay to get on that side. Did I mention quiet you hardly heard I57.
I am torn if that is the place we stayed it would be toward a 4 in stars.
Internet on this side is non existent and I only have 1 or 2 bars on Verizon. On the other side I did see a few internet towers so they do boost over there wonder if the internet is better there.
Anyway choose 3 stars as it s one campground but 2 different views.

Great In/Out Campground
Stayed here for a night. Got in after dark, left before sunrise. So not a ton of "experience" at this campground.
But right off the interstate, and safe/clean/easy. So good stay.
Nice Overnight
We did an overnight in this KOA on our way to Tennessee, the rates are decent and I needed full hook ups to finish de-winterizing the camper. Small place, but has a very nice pond side of the campground that would be great for a longer stay.
Good place for a quick stop
Not a bad place for a stop between destinations or a couple days at the lake would be fine. Roads and sites were well maintained. The dog park gets muddy quick, it’s mostly moss and dirt. It’s close to the Interstate; we’d stay there again.
Ugh 😳
The site was okay. Yes it over looks a pond. Yes it was pull thru. Upon check-in our on-line reservation was confused. We were told there's a kitchen, you can't order anymore we're really backed up....but here's some pizza places that deliver. For a short time we had quiet. There's wifi....Good luck getting and staying connected. If you plan for a good nights rest, you better keep your windows closed, bring ear plugs, and plan for cover noise. I-57 provides plenty of traffic noise and when you can't hear that, the 3 trains between 1am and 6am blowing their whistle for what seems like 2 miles should keep you wide eyed. I would like to say for an over night it was okay, but with a long drive ahead a good night sleep was much needed. Should have stayed on the road. All for the low low price of $56 night.
Benton KOA
Quick and close to Benton. Has a decent pond with catfish and bass. Usual fare for a KOA. Beautiful Trees and shrubs. Impressive stand of bamboo with secret grove. Definitely a family spot.
Lots of room
This is not a typical KOA. The spaces were large and roomy. Showers and bathroom were very nice, too. We didn’t use any of the other amenities because we were just passing through.
Conveniently located.
Very convenient off the interstate, but also noisy due to the interstate being right there. Small park, quite a few permanent residents. This was a simple stop over for us, but it served the purpose.
