Campground Hosts are Aweosme
Kirk was awesome. Thanks for everything and I hope you are enjoying the cast iron pan! The Bigfoot People
Perfect site for beginners!
VERY easy to book and the host is very nice and keeps things clean. We didn’t really have to check in, they email you a gate code. Bathrooms are clean and close to sites 4-6 . My wife and I camped at site 5 and it had close access to the stairs to get down to the water. They collect donations for firewood, they even have a tarp over the wood to keep it dry. We did check out the rest of the campground and if you like more secluded sites 13 and 1 are great but far from the restrooms. To sum it all up, my wife and I have camped before at festivals and in the mountains just a few times awhile ago, this is the perfect site for people who are getting into a camping lifestyle or just passing through because of how easy the process was and the amenities. We did see a lot of solo campers just passing through also and everyone was very respectful. Im the middle of the night you do hear coyote howls and there is a lot of motor noise from the road but for a drive up campsite, you can’t really expect it to be 100% quiet.
For the hikers: my wife and I have recently gotten into hiking and the citrus trail is AMAZING. We hiked up part of a loop and ended up finding a cave. In total we hiked 16 miles. The entire trail is over 40 miles long so the day after the big hike, we drove to the other side of the yellow trail (about 9 minutes away) and found Dames Cave and Peace cave and it was AWESOME.
Thank you to the host for keeping the campground safe and clean!! We will be back :)

Great place!
Very spacious campground! Bathrooms are nice flush toilets even though they look like pit toilets from the outside. Plenty of trails, water at each site, and no need to interact with a single soul.
Good home base camp
This campground is a pretty sweet home base destination if you're trying to explore the forest. There are some engine rumbling in the night but hey it's camping! It's what you make of your experience. Very peaceful area and cost friendly fee. I suggest getting a lay out of campsites as some but not all sites are as private.
Loud engine noises but otherwise secluded
This is an excellent place to camp because it is secluded with large private campsites surrounding a clear swimming hole. It is a short drive from the Chaz, and affordable. The hosts were extra friendly. Downside is no pets or alcohol, and weird gloomy roar of airboats or some other loud engine after dark nearby. We also camped next to someone who was blasting country music and speaking loudly well past midnight, but that is a risk of campground camping, bring earplugs.
Very nice
The place is very quiet and nice. Restrooms are very clean. Right by the trails. We stay here every year. The pond seems clean enough for a swim.

Convenient Camp
Clean campground. Most sites are on top of each other. I recommend getting site 13 if possible. Road noise is a bit of an issue.
Peaceful and serene
Ok to be honest it was quite peaceful because we went in the heat of the summer BUT the campground itself was secluded and clean. Campsite 12 was our favorite (we booked 5 sites total). It was a Family weekend for the books! Would absolutely recommend this campground, the watering hole helped us stay cool and the camp host was very informative and friendly. Will definitely be back to visit when it’s cooler.
Fantastic.
I like all of the Withlacoochie State Forest area, but I really loved staying at Mutual Mine. It has a beautiful couple of lakes, crystal clear water. I regretted not bring a pole to fish! I definitely need to get back over there for another night or two
Quiet and clean
Large sites, only some are private
Great off-roading basecamp
My group goes to this campground several times a year due to the location to home and for being able to play off road in the surrounding trail system. We ride up on our adventure motorcycles, setup camp then go play all day on the trails. Once done retreat to camp and cool off in the waters of the mine pond. 13 campsites all spaced out nicely so you don’t have to be too close to neighbors unless you wish too. Definitely a fun place to stay.
Wide open spaces, very quiet!
We hiked extensively in this tract and used Mutual Mine campground as one of our stop-overs. Very nice, open, flat areas to pitch tents and close to hiking trails. Fire ring at each site, options to hang your hammock. Bathrooms but no showers. Free potable water. You can also pull in a trailer but this is not a full-commercial type campground. More a cross between that and primitive camping…….perfect for backpackers!!
