Plenty of options for different types of campers
While the sites are a little close together there are tons of sites that provide different amenities. Some sites could be better for trailers, and others good for groups, few good for more privacy. There is a good amount of traffic heading towards the trail head but it was still quiet. Even had a moose run through our camp! Would recommend a 4wheel drive car, or a very careful experienced off road driver; I was able to make it in my Camry but went at a snails space and it was a pretty rough drive. Great trip overall!!

Secluded
Really lovely. Easy to grab a spot over the weekend on Friday night. Need 4x4 for the road up. Large campsites .
Solid Spot
Awesome dispersed site close to Silverthorne. The address on here takes you to the trailhead/road entrance, after which you need to drive another mile or so down a bumpy road to get to the start of the spots. Saw a sedan out there and some bigger rigs, but would recommend a vehicle with some clearance and four wheel drive as there was plenty of rocks and dips in the road. Also saw multiple cars turn around Saturday afternoon, so try to get there earlier in the day if planning to camp on the weekend.
Great spot, busy.
Really neat campsite but super busy road on a weekend.
Good Site
Overall good site. Road isn’t too bad but not great. Anything more than a civic should be able to make it. We camped on the side away from the creek but found some secluded areas. Highly recommend
Wonderful surprise!
We found the perfect little camp site beside the creek. Secluded and beautiful. Road was a little sketchy but we made it in our van. Zero cell service on Verizon.

Busy place
Popular place. Lot of people driving in looking for a spot. Only 24 spots. First come first serve. Slightly rocky road.
Nice to have the creek close
We’ve been here 2x - once in late May and once in late June. Both times we secured great spots, but the June visit was overrun with mosquitos to the point where we couldn’t spend time outside of the rig. Nice hike to Boulder Lake ~ 7.5+ from where we camped.
Beautiful sites in the Gore Range
Newly designated sites for dispersed camping gives some structure. Camp rings are the only amenity. No complaints about the sites, but my neighbors played electronica until 1 am so I'm having a hard time being too positive. The road to the sites has a few tricky spots but is 2wd accessible.
Great spot close to town
Great spot about 10-15 minutes from Silverthorne. Easy access off of highway 9 and up a dirt road, just a little bumpy but easily cleared in my RAV4. Traffic from other campers throughout the weekend but overall a great place! Lots of Aspen and chipmunks and the sound of the creek was lovely. It looks like all the spots are pretty flat and have a fire ring.
Bumpy, Secluded, Close to Town
WARNING: The road to the camping locations is very bumpy, narrow, and has some large rocks. AWD with high clearance or 4x4 is recommended.
This location was great! I was looking for a quick dispersed camping spot near Dillon, Co that was not to far from town. Take Rock Creek Trailhead off of country road 1350. There are roughly 4-5 large spots where an RV could be parked, and then lots of drive in, or tent spots. The best camp spots are tent locations that require you to leave your car, but I was able to find a great spot near the river with plenty of space for a full size truck with roof top tent.
