Not Our Type of Place

This type of place would definitely appeal more to a extroverted and social crowd. Every day and night multiple other campers had music blasting and were yelling and screaming. Our dogs were charged at every single time we went for a walk by off-leash dogs at other sites, sometimes attacked, multiple times per walk, and by the same dogs over and over. Owners didn't care, no leashes or tie-outs to be seen, no apologies when our dogs got attacked. Rangers were few and far between and did nothing to uphold the rules. Hosts in each loop did nothing and most of the time were part of the problem. We were lucky the place was only ever ~30% full on the busy nights, otherwise I can't imagine how bad it could get.

Facilities: Bathrooms were not good, no soap, cleaned so infrequently anytime a few other campers came through it was trashed for days afterwards, sites were overgrown and uncared for, garbage everywhere from campers that rangers didn't clean up

Cell Service: Good enough Verizon and T-mobile to work remotely

Starlink: While we didn't need to use it, all sites are open to the sky if you needed to

Solar: All sites are open to the sky for good solar

No rangers in sight

The campground itself is pretty nice. Theres flush toilets and hot showers (not tokens needed.) The camp sites are not close together, which is nice. You can bike to the water pretty easily, and there’s a marina store with food trucks. The reason I gave it only three stars is the lack of rangers. Each time I’ve stayed, there was a large group of people blasting their music until 2/3 AM. It was awful. This is a large campground. They really need a ranger in the day and night to keep things enjoyable. We couldn’t even enjoy our dinner or even hear our own music because their music was so loud.

Quick turnaround camp trip. Wasn't expecting too much but really liked the places I visited while I was there. Gonna plan another trip and get in the lake next time. Restroom and shower area were better than I thought it would be so I didn't have to pitch the privacy tent.

Lake Perris - RV 107

Overall good experience in the off season where half of the loops/sites seemed to be closed off. Paved full hookup sites right next to each other but quiet neighbors. Campground is just 5minutes from busy town. Excellent bike path around the entire lake is a must try & no boat rentals at this time. -Spot 107; right behind the check-in building is good but there’s better spots

Nice park with partiers

The Lake experience was awesome. The missus and I brought our kayak and enjoyed the time on the lake staying behind the 5mph buoys. The sandy beaches for the day use swimmers was nice too.

We stayed at the campground on a Friday night and reserved one of the outer spots of the loop (spot 375). It was nice to have the unobstructed view looking out from the campground. We had a firepit, picnic table (aged to where we wouldn't sit on it without splinters), and the spot was paved with a concrete area for tables and chairs.

Many other guests came to the lake campground to party. While we are mostly night owls and didn't mind, many campers on The Dyrt won't like this.

Packed Parking Lot RV Space

Reserved 2 days at Lake Perris SRA looking forward to a relaxing RV experience.  RV site 293 stated E/W/S... The sewer was not at the site.  When we made the ascent into Lake Perris, the view of the lake was beautiful.  I was relieved because i wasn't sure what to expect.  As we veered away from the lake and to the RV camp area, we had to wait in a long line to enter which I expected.  The young check-in staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but they were courteous.  Once checked in, we started to realize that the "RV spots" were parking lot stalls!  I have never been to an RV park where the spot was LITERALLY a parking spot.  I was shocked.

I was able to BARELY back in (I have A 20' Travel trailer) and there were cars parked everywhere and trailers parked VERY close to each other.  There were HUGE tranvel trailers parked not just in the parking stall but up and over the stall because of the size of their trailer.

Reluctantly, we set up the water and electric... and unhooked as we were there for a softball tournament.  When we returned at 8pm, there were MANY adults and children.

Everyone was loud with music and talking until 2am!  Sigh!  There were NO staff in site to enforce quiet hours.  It was a friday night so I was not going to be unreasonable but 2am was WAY too late.  There were people sleeping in open vans.

I do understand that this was a June-Summer weekend but EVERYTHING about this site was NOT what i was expecting.

The next morning, we packed up and asked for a refund.  I told them that this was the worst RV location that I have ever been.  The young lady did not question my experience and refunded my money for the second night.

I booked a night at the Golden Village Palms RV resort in Hemet.  Fortunately, they had availability and the entire experience and RV space was perfect.

If you want a party-party all night atmosphere with adults and children running around and in a parking lot, this location is for you.  It definitely wasn't for us!

Great Large Park in Southwest Riverside County

I've lived in the area since 94. This place has greatly improved since. Water level is way higher, water is cleaner, and clean campground and bathrooms. No more brigades of Donkey Kong sized racoons just a few squads here n there. The RV campsite was probably 80% full on a Friday night. It's closer to your water but too crowded and noisy for our baby so we went over to the tent camping side. For $25 during off-season and 30 during the summer isn't bad. If you don't need hook ups then you can park a 26ft trailer in the campsites without unhooking if needed and not stick out onto the rd. Angled for easy backing in our out of for those still getting the hang of reversing a trailer. Bathrooms and hiking trails a short walk away from campsite 69. Fire pits, wooden benches and parking for several cars per campsite. Large areas around each site for kids or dogs to play in Camp fee's includes park entry for one car, and use of the dump station. Checkout is at noon

Outstanding camping so close to home!

Visited in July during the week. Site had a few neighbors but nothing close to being full. Temperatures reached low 90s but there was always a nice breeze. Find a site with good trees. Super close to bathrooms with flushed toilets and hot water... no coins necessary! They are surprisingly very clean and well kept. You always see the grounds men cleaning and refreshing. Lake is a long walk or short drive (your camping reservation covers lake use and parking). Very quiet and a perfect site for just hanging and spending time with the fam. Highly recommend.

Not so great

Shade is sparse, fellow campers aren’t the most considerate. I have been here 3 times and it always ends up being loud. Fellow campers play music loud and it’s more of a low class party area then camping. I won’t be back.

City camping!

I like to call camping at lake Perris city camping because there can be so many people there on the weekend it’s crazy! Loud music, loud people... But don’t get me wrong my family and I have a great time while there. We just know what to expect. The amount of people camping can drastically change from weekend to weekend, I’m thinking not as many people go when it’s over 90°. But with the lake it’s definitely doable in the heat. My hubby and I have an almost 8 year old and an almost 2 year old. We love Lake Perris camping because it’s close to home, there is always availability and it’s a quick and easy way to get a break from adulting! The photos I have posted are from 6/29-6/30/19 It was not crowded this weekend. But we were there just one weekend before and it was Packed! The weather was also about 15° hotter the second weekend.

Parking lot camping

We stayed here on our first night in our mini Meerkat camper, because of its proximity to the dealership, on our way out of town.  Fortunately, there were very few campers, so we stayed on our own loop, mid-week, and practically had the bathrooms to ourselves.  If this campground were full, it would be pretty miserable.  We found one pepper tree to camp under, parked in our parking space, and ate at the picnic table that was on a cement pad.  The bathrooms were decently clean, and had unmetered showers.

Great local campground with Fun Amenities

This campground is great! It is right next to the lake which has a swimming area, bike path, climbing area, Hiking trails, along with a camp store which has boat rentals and much more!  There is also a museum off the entrance road to the lake. The Perris Auto Speedway is also very close to the campground. They have full hookup, partial hookup, and tent camping sites. Many of the sites have shade trees but some are exposed and can get hot during the summer.

Desert campground on a lake.

It is in a location right next to a race track, so during the summer months it gets quite loud well in to the night. If you have a boat there is a great little island in the lake that has a good beach area to hang out and have a picnic. Its away from the crowds, as the summer months can be quite busy. Growing up I had spent a lot of time at this island, one trip in particular I remember they were searching for a guy that had fallen off his boat, and I was swimming in the lake I started finding money everywhere at the bottom of the lake and had found over $160

The Island does not have campsites or bathrooms. But the campground does have wonderful bathrooms, free showers with hot water, of course it has the other amenities such as fire rings and tables, however, check for fire information if you do want to start a camp fire.
