Everything was amazing there. The sunset the sunrise - we had the beach to ourselves most of the times. It’s that kind of place where you really relax. Bathhouse clean and well maintained. Friendly rangers, stunning beach and Picknick areas.
One star for the beach and one star for the nature. One bathhouse was torn down so we had to walk in the dark for about 1/2 mile to get to the showers. They have restrooms by the pool which were near but they close them at 6pm. So you walk 1/2 mile in the dark to get to a bathroom at night, it’s not convenient if you are not one of these huge RVs. Beach is far away to walk.
The park itself is nice, organized in loops. The rangers were friendly. The bathroom‘s AC was way too cold. The showers were a bit odd.
We liked the campsite. Unfortunately the beach access is not usable because of Hurricane Sally destroying the boardwalks.
We‘ve been to about 10 state parks in Florida and we loved this one the most. It‘s very well maintained and super clean and the bathhouse looks new. The trails are nice. Just really good vibes!
We loved how the beach was so near and you could just drive up there and spend the day in the day use area. Super friendly people.
One star for the lake, another star for the forest. You fill out a letter and leave your money in a box. You can choose between 12$ (primitive), 20$ (water) and 30$ (e/w) sites, which is actually cool, would the host not close most of the sites for „contractors“, who never arrived. They block about 10 sites for whoknowswho which is a shame. Nobody arrived on any of those closed sites for all the days we were there. The bathrooms were the worst we have seen in Florida especially the showers. The ones in our bathhouse were completely closed. and the host called Mark is that type of unfriendly guy with a huge dog you don’t want a discussion with. Just poorly maintained, plastic flying around in the forest, just no love there. Another host called Don was friendly.
I talked to the owner, he was a really friendly guy but his farm isn’t quite ready yet to welcome campers. He told me, he has lots of land with Mangoes and Avocados and stuff but he’ll need a bit more time to get it ready for us campers! He was quite positive about maybe January/ February.
We had a great time there at Theresa‘s little place. She let us stay in a tent pitch with our small scoobidoo van. It’s very natural and down to earth there - friendly people, nice nature - good for relaxing
Best site we‘ve visited so far. Well maintained, lovely, helpful people. Huge spots with water and electricity for relatively good price! We love it.
Nice spring, large camp sites, clean and super friendly people here.
