Ground tenters need not apply

First, the campground is geared towards rv"s and RTTs and trailers. Most of the sites are pull thru, with several back-in. Normal tent camping wont work.

The facility was clean and welcoming. However, couple bones of contention kept me from giving it 5 stars, here's why:

  1. If you are in a RTT, there is a lot of light in parking lot. The back in locales are right near office, so street lights, cars pulling in, etc.
  2. The two bathrooms were amazingly clean. However…YOU MUST PAY SEPARATELY TO USE SHOWER! 1.50 to start, and a quarter each additional minute.
  3. No change machine!!! Good thing I had 2.00 in quarters, and I take fast showers!
  4. The back in spots are near the dumpsters…so you get an occassional whiff of garbage.
  5. Union Pacific main tracks are about 2 or 3 blocks from the locale, and the sound the whistle all night.
What a disappointment

I saw this site via a browser search. I also followed up with this app. The description was that it was a nice campground "south of I-80", with old vault toliets upgraded to portajohns.

First, to get here, I drove 20+ miles on dirt road. Luckily, I had a Jeep Gladiator, so it handled the roads.

Upon arrival, I found a mess! It appears that the state was building new bathrooms and concrete sidewalks…but the parking lot area was a MUDPIT! Good thing I had 4×4! A large 24ft tow behind RV had taken up a large portion of the area, and appered stuck in the mud.

This site was a mess, and I left. Maybe I will revisit in future, but as of Memorial Day 2022, no way!

To get back to civilization, another 10 miles of dirt road to York, NE.

Nice KOA, just missing a couple minor items

Overall, a very nice KOA. Picnic tables are all new and maintained, new fire rings. I stayed in tent camping, and it was grassy and level.

Lots of drive thru spots for electric and hookups.

The staff greeted me warmly. The office was clean and maintained.

Bathrooms were clean, but a tad dated. But they were servicable, smelled clean.

Pool was being repaired at the beginning of .e.orial Day weekend. A bit of a bummer. Also, there waa no firewood that I saw for sale.

The grounds were about half full.

The other slight downside was I-80 noise. I made a video so you can hear the noise. Its about 1 mile away.

I would stay here again!
