Only public beach in area

Camping here even in the summer requires warm clothes. The wind coming in from Lake Superior is cold. Watching the 1000 foot lake freighters come in the St. Mary’s River makes up for it though. Enough can’t be said for the wilderness found in the UP either.

Very nice park

I have stayed in this park camping as an adult as well as a child. There was a store and a mini golf course as a child, not sure about now. The park also provides nature activities during the summer, along with some educational opportunities. There are rivers close by for canoeing, tubing and fishing.

Many great memories

I have been going to this park since I was little. This was the place we would go to the beach with my parents. This is the place we would go for summer parties with friends in high school. I lost my virginity staying in this park after my sophomore year of high school. This is a great place!!!

Nice state park

I stayed here several times and have enjoyed each time. Many nice people to hang out with. I grew up in the area. The lakes and rivers are full of fish and the hunting is great!!

Nice spot on the water

I grew up here and stayed here often. There is wild brook trout fishing to be had all around. Lots of trails. Cross country skiing in the winter. Great area!!

One on my favorites in the Carolina’s

I have been here many times. The cold water showers sound horrible, but after a hot day on the beach they are fantastic. You are allowed to drive on the beach here. That is nice. Dogs are allowed. Last time I went my son caught a sea horse!! Amazing.

Fun fishing

We went fishing for part of the day here. My son thought he was cool because he was the only one to catch fish. The dog was not thrilled!!

Nice place for the family

I will start the review by saying KOA is not my favorite. That being said. This was nice for the kids. They liked the pool and other activities. It is in the middle of a bunch of farm fields though. Not much nature around if that is what you like.

Decent

This park was nice the night I stayed. Had we utilized to swimming area or spent more time I would know more. The sites were nice and the bathroom was clean.

Love it!!!

I have stayed at this campground twice. Both times we had fantastic fishing. The camp sites are well maintained and allow for lots of room. There are lots of activities outside of fishing as well. But that was what I was there for.

Nearby

I didn’t stay in Hunt Camp proper, but just up the road. It is very quiet and enjoyable. Hung my hammocks from nearby trees and slept very well. Doing a little scouting for the upcoming hunting season.

Great Family Campground

I have stayed many times in this campground. The tent pads are quite compacted but drain well. In addition to the nearby lake, there is a pool you can take the kids to. This is very dog friendly. Not too much traffic for the kids either. I have seen a rattle snake!!
