Level spaced out sites, probably better for tents but our small camper was fine. It is about 5 miles on dirt road to get there but the road is maintained. Pinhoti trail goes through the camp so plenty of hiking to do. No cell service at all. Nearly all sites have table, fire ring a lantern stand. Very nice creek runs on one side.
All sites here are on the river. Plenty of room for a small rv or tent, level gravel sites with fire ring and lantern pole. These sites, well all of the campgrounds on the river are cheap (10 bucks a night), well maintained with no frills. No water or power with vaulted toilets. Not much in the way of hiking, but a good place to relax, Fisk and kayak. Zero cell service and narrow paved road going in are the only downside.
Recently remodeled and reopened. All rv sites are level large concrete, most are power and water. I did see a few that offered sewer but only a few. Only one row is actually on the creek with most situated a little further away but in easy hearing distance of the rapids. The park is operated by the state and is very clean and staffed by friendly people to help. There is absolutely no cell service or tv stations available due to the geographic makeup of the park. They make up for this by excellent Wi-Fi throughout the park. Most phones will work fine while connected and tv streaming is great.
Reserved out spot long in advance to get a spot on the lake, please do like all campgrounds all sites are not created equal. Most all are concrete pads and level but if your camper is over 25’ or so length may cause a problem. Not really any hiking to do other than take a walk around the campground that’s huge. Kids on bikes seemed to be having a ball, mostly relaxing and if your into fishing for adults. Lake sites are huge and well spaced out with plenty of shade and privacy, others seemed packed in (as with most parks). Verizon was weak over most of the property talk and text ok but data not so much.
The Pocket in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. Another beautiful place we've never been before! Nice tent camp spot, not sure I would stay several days but we really enjoyed the weekend. This was our last chance since the camp closes on Nov. 9 this year. The sites along the creek are nice but the rest is well laid out with fire rings, lantern poles and tables. No showers but the restrooms were clean and in good order. Cell service is totally nonexistent in the whole area.
Well maintained clean campground. Trails close by, beautiful creek runs through although not all sites have access because of high banks. Clean bath house but no power at sites. Large sites if you have a group (reservations for groups of 20 or more other wise first come first serve. Used mostly by bike riders on the trail. We tent camped but travel trailers are welcome and plenty of room. We have Verizon phones and service is there but weak.
Overall good place to visit. Some sites are squeezed too close together but there are great sites scattered all throughout the park. It’s a large park with 4 camp loops, hiking is good with the main waterfall worth the walk into the canyon. The park seems well maintained and clean, bath houses were clean and had spacious showers. Only reason I didn’t give a 5 star review is with luck of the draw your site may be a little crowded.
river around campground is amazing. Nice pool very clean bath houses. Only surprise was unlovely site, our neighbor had to loan blocks to set camper
