This is a good spot, great cell service and good Starlink reception, but it gets overrun with absolute idiots and just generally clueless campers. They will park and camp right on the roads, they will run their generators into the early hours of the morning, they will come blazing through on their OHVs blaring the most obnoxious music as loud as they can. If that’s your thing, great! You’ll love it. Otherwise there’s plenty more camping in the forest with a bit more seclusion and far fewer weekend warriors

If your idea of camping is a being stuffed into a tiny spot that sits should to shoulder with other campers, running your noisy generator and sitting in your RV all day, congrats, this place is for you. And ass an added perk, you can see the lake, but no direct access and not much going on at all. So of course you’ll need to drive out a couple miles to do anything remotely outdoorsy and be able to hear yourself think without the constant noise of your fellow campers generators

This campsite features several small campsites and a few group sites with picnic areas. The views are amazing and on a clear night the stats and distant city lights are amazing

The area is well wooded and the sites though small give a good deal of privacy. There are plenty of toilets and water spigots with potable water, but no trash receptacles, so you’ll need to pack out your trash

Clean and quiet campsite on the water. There are several water spigots and there are sites with electrical hookups for RVs. The site also has a fishing dock with a small ramp to access the river with. During my stay there was lots of bear activity, but the bears avoided human contact and were not a threat. The site closed for renovations the day I left, but should be open again by the spring

Pretty much what you’d expect for a primitive drive-up tent only campsite. Fire ring and picnic table. There’s well maintained restrooms with household AC outlet, water fountain with faucets and dishwashing area. The only issue I saw was that my site and a few others had no bear box. I stored my food and cooking gear in my car, but if you’re backpacking or on a motorcycle or bike, you will definitely want to ask the rangers for a site with a bear box

This was a handy stop over on the 80, easy access to campsites along a small stream. It’s just outside Winnemucca, which boasts a full range of services and stores such as Walmart. Will keep this location saved for future use when traveling through the area

A great campsite not too far from South Lake Tahoe. While most campsites are on the smaller size, there are a few which can accommodate larger tents. The hosts were very friendly and on the whole, those who camp here are courteous and respectful of others and the site. I highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a campsite that’s laid back, quiet and away from the crowds other sites like Richardson draw. Definitely a site worth coming back to

The campsite is a single fire ring in an unpaved parking lot about 100’ from the road which has moderate traffic. It’s free, and if you’re needing a spot to camp for the night, this might be for you. I visited in August so decided to opt for a motel room instead since the heat was well over 100. The “playa” itself featured a trail, it’s about 2.6 miles to the trail’s end and back

Came here expecting to have camping fun on the lake — no such luck. Swimming only allowed at their “swimming beach” and only while life guard on duty. And to use my inflatable kayak, I have to use their boat launch and pay a $9.00 fee. Honestly, I’m so miffed at this no fun allowed rent begging garbage, I’m looking for a motel, because all there is to do here is sit in a dirt patch in 100 degree heat with no shade, looking at a lake you can’t touch. Won’t ever come here or any campsite run by LA County again
