The road up was a little rough and slippery, in some places. It had rained a few days before. I was fine without 4x4, but did slide in a few places. If you’re looking for peace and quiet with spectacular views and a lot of outdoor activities available, you will love it. Bring water, etc… it’s always to town. T-mobile cell good enough to stream.
The drive up is beautiful, the road isn’t maintained, but in pretty good condition. I stopped right after the cattle guard. There is another site going up about .5 mile in the left. Couldn’t see good enough in the dark. The creek was flowing and quite a few animals at dawn and dusk. Not a lot of traffic, and a trail right up the road to hike or follow the creek. The last campers left it so nice I was able to add decorations.
This would be a good overbite spot. There’s just a parking lot with a few spots and an overload lot. There were quite a few people already there. Big enough to turn around.
Came in late last night and I think I saw a sign for a permit. The coordinates drop you off at a trailhead?? Went up another .5 miles and found a spot to pull over. Might be more up the way.. it’s beautiful, but I’m leaving bc not sure if allowed and don’t want to be disrespectful
This was easy to find, the road in is a bit rocky, but I saw All types of vehicles make it, just watch for a few rocks. Beautiful views and easy to get to hiking.
This is one of my fave spots yet.. drove to almost next cattle guard and ended up in the middle of a mountain range Fairy circle.
Didn’t see another person for 3 days. Sun rise and sets are AMAZING
Very easy to get to, went up the hill past the cattle guard. Didn’t see anyone else in my 4 night camp. The sunsets and sunrises are amazing. Will def come back
I stayed 4 nights bc it was so close to hiking and town. Very dusty and packed some trash out that was left behind. Pretty quiet with beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
This is a nice spot next to the river, there are a couple of hiking trails. I was there during the week and it was pretty quiet
This was an easy spot and any kind of vehicle can get here. Lots of room, not much to look at in the fall,as far as, right around, but the views are amazing king distance and at night the stars are amazing. I didn’t hear any cows, it was quiet at night
Apple Maps sent me the same way it did for Chites and Ladders and the BLM… down a dead end road to a residence.
I tried going here, but it sent you to a residence and a dead end… This was using Apple Maps.
I stayed about 5.5 miles up, the road is bumpy, but not horrible. I didn’t see many cars come up, maybe 1 a day. There’s a couple of trails you can do while here. . I used AllTrails..(I know people say things, but coming from someone who hiked and found trails Pre-apps, I find it amazing, even when it glitches sometimes. I saw deer around sunset and birds through the day.
I got here around 4 on a Tuesday, good amount of spots available for any kind of rig set up. If you drive all the way down the road there is a turnaround and fire ring. Like others stated, the creek was wonderful. There is also a hiking trail at the first parking area, go under the tunnel. Very quiet at night, some dust from the ATV.
I tried to find a spot about 6 pm on a Monday… all were filled up, looked liked quite a few long term. Beautiful location and pretty close to stores.
Got here early early morning, only 1 other slot was taken. Easy to find and park. Great mornings by the water.
This is a great spot, not far from town. The drive up is bumpy, but I saw all Mamés of vehicles, including RVs pulling. Got there on a Fri pm, the weekend wasn’t that busy, more people came in on Tuesday. Everyone there was polite or private. Very nice trip.
