Well, the sites are very basic and there is a lack of trees. But there is a nice sandy beach area, waterslides, paddle boats and kayaks for rent, a restaurant and a playground in the camping area.

This camp site is one of my favorites. While it is very rustic and the bathrooms left much to be desired, there were animals everywhere, including bison and wild turkeys around camp. Great short hikes around camp and good proximity to town. Sites are basic and have both drive up and walk in sites.

We camped right on the banks of the river. it was across from a bluff and we could watch people climbing and repelling. Others had rented paddle boats nearby. The bathrooms and showers were nearby and clean and the water was cool and clear. We enjoyed our camp site and the close proximity to the Lower Mountain Fork river for paddling.

We have been camping at the Blue River for years and it doesn't get old. Expect VERY rustic camping. Small falls and rope swings make this the perfect way to cool off in the hot Oklahoma sun. There are some snakes, so be watchful, but they don't bother us ever. Stars are bright and it is generally very peaceful. plenty of spots for privacy or larger group camps… lots of places right by the water or nestled around trees. The bluff spots are my favorite in the Fall. Scotty's one stop shop will keep you in ice and they have a fantastic grill, when it's open. The raccoons can be aggressive, keep your food put up in your car or a cooler and throw away your trash nightly unless you want to pick it up in pieces the next day. They may rip your tent to get to food, seriously, put it up. I think they're hilarious… my friends did not… Still, we all love this place.

Loved this friendly KOA. Gorgeous pool, nice sites, electricity available with a stand for electronics and our friend even brought a Keurig! Clean bathrooms and grounds. Would definitely stay again!

This was sensational. We drove about an hour up the mountain to camp right by the rim. If it hadn't been so late I'd have hiked the last hundred feet to pitch my tent right in the spot overlooking the rim. The views were astounding. Moab was a last minute addition to our Colorado camping trip and I am SO glad we added this Utah gem in. Right by Arches National Park, the scenery is breathtaking. And camping up here is totally free! Clean bathrooms and gorgeous skies and views. Now I tell all my friends to GO! Camp the rim. It is SO worth the extra drive up the mountain, though there is also gorgeous camping lower down. (I made a friend in a Chalet camper like the one I have at home and got a pic). They recommend 4 wheel drive. I was in an SUV (not 4 wheel drive) and my friend was in a Volvo 240 wagon. We made it all the way up until those last few feet which can easily be walked up to with equipment.

We loved Lightner Creek. The creek was great, the pool was welcome relief for the kids and we enjoyed talking to fellow campers visiting from around the country and England! Hosts were kind and informative and the location was close to town and the places we wanted to visit. Clean restrooms and campground. We'd stay again!

We love Buena Vista. Chalk Creek is in a great location, right across from a fantastic river rafting outfitter and across the hwy and a short drive up the mountain to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. We spent a day doing both. We were able to camp right on the water and enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of running water. The camp site is clean, has nice bathrooms and we would stay again.

We visited Black Canyon last August on our way to Colorado and stayed two nights. What a lovely and well maintained place. camp hosts were absolutely wonderful. campers were clean, quiet and respectful. Bathrooms were just pit toilets, but man… they were CLEAN! It is cool at night, even in August, due to the elevation. We were so cozy in our wool socks and sleeping bags in a tent. It even hailed on us hard one day. I liked this place so much we booked it again this summer, but were disappointed to see it closed for the month due to wild fires nearby and extreme drought. We get it, but are super bummed. This place is just gorgeous.

we had excellent weather June 9-10. Breezy and cool evenings. We had a small class camping and were recommended to Critter Alley by staff due to area and proximity to water and the nature center. The pavilion was perfect for our class and the stars were bright. Bathrooms were right there as well, but could use some work. All in all, would totally go back again. Ernie at the nature center is fantastic and the kids all had a blast. Misti and Dawn, from the camp offices were wonderful.

Thunderbird has a lot of camping. Our favorite is Little Axe. You can reserve spaces (which Is fabulous) and because you have to pay $5 just to get in (if you aren't camping), there is less traffic and it is quieter. Other sites have loud parties and such… Little Axe is nice for families and quieter groups. Also, it's a peninsula by the dam, there's a quiet cove for fishing, good beaches and lake access, a play gym for kiddos and clean bathrooms. Bonnie, the camp host, and Ron (I think) are lovely and attentive. I absolutely love this site… As far as camping in Norman this is my favorite. If you're camping in Norman, try here. We've been in every season and it is always beautiful.
