We stayed here in December of 2021 for a couple weeks and were so glad we did. The owners and work staff are absolutely wonderful and very attentive. The office complex with laundry, showers, and bathrooms is very well kept up. The store is very well supplied (including chocolate for my wife!!). We were privileged to be a part of their 1st Christmas dinner gathering in the nice rally room they have and were so glad we could be a part of it. The campground is easy access off I-10 and worth the stop in… hope we will be able to stop by again some time.
We stayed here for a couple weeks and hated to leave. The owner and staff are very available and always willing to help. Most sites are full hook up and the bathroom facilities are only for the ones who don't have full hook up. Not a lot of ups and extras, but the price is great including the price for the firewood. And did I mention they are right on the river!! As well as only minutes away from some great views and hiking.
We stayed here for two weeks the end of September and beginning of October. This was a great place for home base for a couple weeks while we enjoyed Maine and what it offers!! The owners have done a wonderful job in making this a great place to stop in the 14 years they have owned this. The sites are super spacious and nicely placed in a wooded area. Pool was closed but looked great and nice playground for kids. Located close enough to Moosehead lake to be able to take advantage of it. They have a great camp store, game room, and snack shop in which they serve great food at on the weekends and also do a number of activities for families and kids. Recently put up a new bathroom and laundry facility and have good wifi. Conveniently located for ATV'ers. Don't miss staying here!!
We stayed here in August for almost 2 weeks and even though the campground doesn't have many full hook up sites (which we did not have). It is a small campground so everything is close… easy access to the office, store, bathrooms and showers, along with a nice pool and a little fishing pond and game room for kids. Love that the sights are mostly shaded sites and maybe best of all is how close it is to a lot of attractions in the Colorado Springs area without being right in the busyness of it. It is a high enough elevation that the temperatures were very comfortable. The staff is great and very attentive, place is well kept up with and clean. We were glad we found this place!!
We stayed here in August for 10 days or so and besides struggling at first with how to get into the actual campground (there is a small road off the parking lot for the stores there that leads down into it) we absolutely loved it!! We had a spot right next to the river, got to do a little fishing on the stream fed trout pond, but most of all got to take in the South Park region which was great. We loved the town of Fairplay which has some nice restaurants, ice cream shop, and a coffee shop and much more. We were there when Fairplay had it's Living History event in town and really enjoyed that. A great place to camp and great area to enjoy!!
We stayed here for a couple weeks in June. The sites were big and Allen the owner/host was great! Close enough to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons along with other great stops. The town of Dubois is a great little town with some great places to eat. We would definitely stay there again!!
We stayed here for a week in June to start our trip around the country and it was a great place to start our camping experience! The owner/host does a great job and is extremely helpful. Plenty to do in the area… we floated down the root river for about 3 hours and had a great time. The campground had everything we needed including a great little trout stream on the edge of the property, a hayride, movie for the family in the old red barn, and a church service in that same barn on Sunday. We will look forward to camping there again in the future!!
